WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR

We’re looking for an enthusiastic multi-disciplined Social Media Specialist to join our team! This is an awesome opportunity to get in on the ground floor of a VC-backed eCommerce startup. As our Social Media Specialist you will be responsible for presenting our brand in a visually compelling way and creating a community of brand loyalists across all our social media channels.

  • You’re passionate about the skincare space. You’re up to date with all the competitive brands in the industry and keep a pulse on trends, news, and consumer behavior

  • You’re a great writer. You have experience turning complex stories and narratives into compelling copy that is on brand and in line with a voice that resonates deeply with our target audience

  • You’re a people person. You thrive at making one-on-one connections and conversations with our highly engaged followers and community members who often reach out to us daily on our channels. You also love interacting with influencers and create partnerships to grow our brand

  • You have a great eye for design & photography - and you can create it too! You’re aesthetically sensitive to brands and have experience curating a feed that is aspirational yet approachable. You’re scrappy and are able to produce visually stunning content using tools like Illustrator, Canva, or even your iPhone!

  • You’re all about community. You’re a natural community organizer and are passionate about fostering spaces that encourage organic connection amongst our members

  • You’re an analytics whiz. At the end of the day, you’re obsessed with content that drives engagement. You’re constantly optimizing your strategy based on learnings from KPIs. You’re not too attached to your original ideas that you’re unwilling to pivot when the data says so. You’re an organized, natural born project manager. You have experience building and executing a content calendar, utilizing scheduling platforms like SproutSocial, HootSuite, etc. You’re always breaking down large projects into actionable steps at a timely pace

  • You’re a team player. You’re vocal about communicating key findings, but also emphasize listening to the wisdom of others. You communicate your needs in a way that allows your teammates to hand off their best work. Bonus points if you have experience working with a creative team to ensure timely delivery of assets.

  • You have 1-2 years of experience. You have a Bachelor’s degree with a few years of relevant experience. Extra points if you’ve worked in e-commerce, startups, or (even better) an e-commerce startup!

  • You’re local — based in San Francisco/Bay Area.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

  • Develop, plan, and execute an organic social media calendar and build a content strategy across key channels, including Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, and Reddit

  • Build an active community across our social media channels — respond daily to direct consumer questions and ensure Symbiome maintains a positive reputation for exceptional customer service.

  • Serve as a real-time liaison with the CX Manager for product questions, concerns or more detailed questions and answers

  • Collaborate with creative and marketing teams to design and implement brand campaigns, and with PR for influencer giveaways and traditional media amplification

  • Report weekly on key metrics including engagement rates and audience growth, coming up with key insights to inform different aspects of the business

  • Stay up-to-date on new social media tools, best practices and how other organizations and companies are using them

  • Work on content and in-house photoshoots to create organic, authentic content for our feed
