DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

As the Unlikely Collaborators Social Media Manager, we are looking for someone to spend time deeply understanding our vision to help create content and visuals that align with that vision. We expect you to be detail-oriented, visually minded, social media savvy and comfortable juggling a full plate of multifaceted responsibilities for our team. The position of Social Media Manager at Unlikely Collaborators is part art, part science and integral to our success.

The Social Media Manager will be responsible for working with our marketing team to set the course for social accounts and projects, helping to grow a brand from the ground up.

There’s no real way to create a finite list of responsibilities for an Social Media Manager, but here’s a topline look at what falls in your purview.

There are several key attributes to this position. The ideal candidate:

  • is experienced in growing communities across social media for a company brand

  • is experienced in working with marketing and creative teams to develop and curate content for brand channels

  • is a great writer capable of crafting compelling digital copy and social communications for the brand while maintaining a consistent voice

  • is familiar with building and maintaining a social content calendar

  • can pitch out-of-the-box ideas for how to bring positive psychology, scientific research, and personal development practices to life on digital platforms

  • is comfortable analyzing data and identifying opportunities for growth

  • can identify relevant conversational and cultural trends for brand engagement

  • is up to speed on social media industry trends and stays up-to-date with platform changes and developments

  • is flexible with the workday, as the hours can be non-traditional

  • is capable of shooting quality image and social video

  • is a great conversationalist (on-line and off-line)

  • is organized, self-directed and proactive

  • loves to think strategically about how to creatively grow brands
