Q What do you do?
“As a Creative Project Manager & Producer, I oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of creative projects, ensuring they meet deadlines, budgets, and quality standards. I specialize in coordinating resources, talent, and workflows to bring ideas to life, with a strong focus on both creative and operational aspects.”
Q What steps did you take to get to where you are now?
I started my career while studying Fashion Communications at Toronto Metropolitan University. I was a Retail Associate at Aritzia and within my first year, joining the Retail Management team. These roles gave me confidence in a professional setting and I learned the ins and outs of running a high-revenue retail store. Following graduation, I moved to Aritzia Support office in Vancouver as a Creative Project Manager which was the start of it all.
Q How do you stand out in your field?
I focus on nurturing a genuine appreciation for creatives and their processes, allowing me to connect with them on a more meaningful level. By being authentic and empathetic, I build strong, trusting relationships that are essential for collaboration. I take pride in my hard work and my ability to accomplish tasks that may seem impossible to others, showcasing my dedication and reliability.
Q What are you working on right now?
I am working with agencies as well as on the in-house brand side. Currently, I am working in the fashion, home, and F&B spaces. I am supporting with end-to-end project management for marketing and creative projects. When I can, I love to jump in and support with internal process optimization to increase operations efficiency.
Q What’s your style?
My style is focused on timeless design, which emphasizes enduring quality over fleeting trends. I believe in creating work that are both aesthetic and sustainable, standing the test of time. Currently, I have several projects that reflect this ethos, showcasing elements that blend classic appeal with innovative approaches.
Q Out of all your slashies, which one do you wish you could do more often?
If I could focus more on one area, it would undoubtedly be my deep admiration for nature and animals. I find immense fulfillment in exploring natural environments. This passion drives me to seek out opportunities that allow me to learn more about the natural world and contribute to the well-being of both wildlife and their habitats. Brands that are mindful about nature through sustainability practises always resonate deeply with me.
Q What is frustrating you right now?
AI is compromising the integrity of creative roles. Finding the balance of how AI can be a tool we use while still allowing the creative process to exist and thrive is something I am trying to navigate with my colleagues. I am hopeful for a future where both can work together, instead of take from each other.
Q If you could hire someone for $20/hour, what would you have them do to make your day easier?
I would hire an administrative assistant to support with scheduling, communications, and asset management. This would save me time to focus more on driving work forward.
Q What do you wish you could have told yourself, when, and why?
I would tell myself to trust the process. I often remind myself that I am exactly where I would have hoped I would be 5 years ago today. It is important to remember that goals are not reached overnight. It will all work out!
Q If you could talk to an expert to gain more insight on something, what would it be about?
As we watch IRL activations thrive post-pandemic, it is incredible to watch brands internationally take over spaces that push the boundaries of the retail experience. I would like to chat with producer that is skilled in navigating permits in large cities. Although I have experience with this, there is still so much to learn.
Q What kind of opportunities/projects are you looking for?
I'm open to a wide range of projects, as I believe that every opportunity provides a chance to grow and learn. I am eager to work on projects that challenge my creativity and allow me to push boundaries, such as exploring new concepts.
Q Describe your ideal job/client/collaboration.
My ideal client, job, or collaboration involves working with individuals or teams who value creativity, innovation, and open communication. I thrive in environments where collaboration is key, and everyone is encouraged to bring unique perspectives to the table. The ideal scenario would involve projects that challenge me creatively and allow me to learn and grow while contributing meaningfully to the project's success.
Q: What is your rate?
My hourly rate is $85 CAD per hour. This is reflective of my experience, skillset and location.
Q How should someone approach you about working together?
Ideally, a client would approach me via email. This is the best way for me to reply as quick as possible and kick start meaningful conversations. A great intro typically includes a brief description of who they are or the client they are representing, project scope, and timing expectations.
