Grace Gibson
Q What do you do?
“I identify storytelling opportunities and define visual identity and persona, translating business goals into strategic creative concepts and art-directing content to fulfill 360-degree marketing channels. I lead a multidisciplinary team in developing and executing initiatives to ensure cohesive and authentic experiences that leave a memorable impression across every touchpoint.”
Q What steps did you take to get to where you are now?
Relentless pursuit, passion, and a concerning average screen time.
Q How do you stand out in your field?
Relentless dedication and passion. I bring the same energy, skill, and creativity to every project, whether it’s a social post or a seven-figure 360-campaign, ensuring that the client receives the development, execution, and attention necessary to deliver results that exceed expectations.
Q What are you working on right now?
Leading a multidisciplinary creative team to reposition Aimee Kestenberg and American Leather Co. as D2C-focused e-commerce brands by overhauling their visual identities and brand personas.
Q What’s your style?
Polished rebellion: a pristine base with an elevated finish, punctuated by one unexpected twist that stops you, makes you double-take, and sparks conversation.
Q Out of all your slashies, which one do you wish you could do more often?
I wish I could focus my skills on projects with a reasonable lead time and budget.
Q What is frustrating you right now?
The belief that distinctive brands happen by accident. They don't. Distinctive brands are built by teams who have a clear sense of who the brand is, what customers like about it, and how it goes to market differently than everyone else.
The notion that AI can outperform a passionate yet scrappy in-house creative team in terms of speed, cost, and quality.
When resources are scarce, expectations and output increase, yet quality is expected to remain the same.
Q If you could hire someone for $20/hour, what would you have them do to make your day easier?
Select my outfit every morning! A clothing dilemma is the number one reason I'm late, because if the outfit doesn't feel right, I can't go!
Q What do you wish you could have told yourself, when, and why?
I would advise my high school self to choose art school in a major city over traditional undergraduate studies in a rural small town, emphasizing that traditional pathways do not define your college experience and that there is no true concept of normal.
Q What kind of opportunities/projects are you looking for?
Art direction and styling opportunities beyond handbags/accessories. Aiming to diversify my portfolio.
Q Describe your ideal job/client/collaboration.
Setting realistic goals, establishing clear expectations, ensuring transparency, and delivering promises in a timely manner from both parties.
Q: What is your rate?
My hourly rate starts at $100 per hour. Project-based rates are offered as well.
Q How should someone approach you about working together?
The preferred form of communication is email: ggibson4496@gmail.com. Please include scope, budget, and timeline.
Q Who is a creative you admire?
Alison Dickson — Founder of @r.u.t.h.n.y
Q Oh! and… how do you stay creative?
Allocating time in my schedule to do absolutely nothing.
