Q What do you do?

I am your customers’ first point of contact. Quirks, tone, and what your brand actually stands for — it’s all in the copywriting! And where there’s a distinct tone of voice, there’s a following.

So, at what point should you give me a call? When you’re working on a campaign for a product launch, need to liven up your website, or want to sharpen your customer emails. Maybe you need me to come in much earlier and shape your brand’s tone of voice (or name)? Yes, I can help with that too.

Q What steps did you take to get to where you are now?

I got my English degree and initially straddled the two worlds of editorial and commercial. Working at ASOS helped me realise I kinda, sorta LOVE writing for fashion and beauty brands. Since then, I’ve been able to find the cultural or playful voice in a wide range of brand categories such as finance and tech. I’m pretty channel-agnostic too — think social, TV commercials, email and website.

Q How do you stand out in your field?

So… not to distract from the copywriting services that I’m offering, but I‘m also an art director. My journey from an English student to an art director is untraditional and entirely instinctive. I believe that’s reflected in my work as a whole, including my writing. ‘Same old’ doesn’t live here.

Q What are you working on right now?

Currently finishing up a job with Channel 4 where I’ve been the creative lead for their partnerships team. I’m also focused on passion projects and sharpening the skills I already use in my day-to-day as a creative lead; writing short film scripts, being more consistent with my Substack newsletter, and completing the ilovecreatives Graphic Design Course. Honestly, I feel like a kid playing around in art class again. It’s nice.

Q What’s your style?

I can be playful, I can be serious, I can be a comedian writing comedy sketches for Channel 4. I’m very versatile. But the aspiration? Anything Billie razors or Glossier does.

Q Out of all your slashies, which one do you wish you could do more often?

I’m well versed in skincare but would like to work in tech more.

Q What is frustrating you right now?

Besides the economy in this England? I’m not frustrated, that’s a strong word, but I’m just a UK girl… standing in front of US clientele… asking them to hire her (to get the job done even though she’s remote and working on her own time. If you don’t get the reference, this is so awkward…)

Q If you could hire someone for $20/hour, what would you have them do to make your day easier?

Build an entire social media presence for me because I’m just not into all of that. I hear it helps with landing clients…

Q What do you wish you could have told yourself, when, and why?

Trust. The. Process. Creative careers are fluid and this is a reality that didn’t always gel with my twenties, a period where I thought everything needed to be figured out ASAP. Hilarious. What a time.

Q If you could talk to an expert to gain more insight on something, what would it be about?

AI. Like…?! Yeah…

Q What kind of opportunities/projects are you looking for?

Skincare, wellness, tech and music brands are my big obsessions. But I’ve got a versatile list of brands under my belt and can adapt. Dreamy briefs would be brand tone of voice guidelines, product launch campaigns, and websites.

Q Describe your ideal job/client/collaboration.

I’ve worked with so many amazing clients who allow me to take them out of their comfort zone and have been really clear on what they want. That’s where the magic happens; when we’re both just hearing each other.

Q: What is your rate?

My hourly rate is £50 and I would charge a project fee depending on how much work goes into it.

Q How should someone approach you about working together?

Email me at tahierao@gmail.com

Q Who is a creative you admire?

Little Troop — Its co-founder Noemie is the GOAT.

Q Oh! and… how do you stay creative?

I go outside and live life.
