About Cloth & Flame

At Cloth & Flame, we transform landscapes into immersive, story-driven experiences that redefine hospitality, brand activations, and large-scale events. From remote wilderness settings to historic landmarks, we create events that live at the intersection of design, storytelling, and commerce.

We're seeking an Event Designer / Experiential Art Director to conceptualize, design, and sell unforgettable experiential events. This is a highly conceptual role where your ability to ideate, pitch, and execute original experiences will directly impact our success.

This role blends experiential design, art direction, and sales strategy—perfect for someone who is equally passionate about crafting compelling event narratives and securing client buy-in through exceptional storytelling and presentation.

The Role:

As an Event Designer, you’ll dream up, design, and close high-concept experiential events. You'll develop strategic, visually compelling proposals, collaborate with internal teams to refine and execute your ideas, and work closely with clients to turn concepts into reality.

Key Responsibilities:

Concept Development & Experiential Art Direction

  • Develop bold, imaginative event concepts that align with client goals and brand identity.

  • Lead design thinking—creating mood boards, pitch decks, and immersive storytelling presentations.

  • Utilize 2D & 3D design skills to develop layouts, floor plans, and experiential visualizations.

  • Partner with internal teams (producers, fabricators, and stylists) to bring your vision to life.

Sales & Client Engagement

  • Support the end-to-end sales process, from initial inquiry to signed contract.

  • Craft and present persuasive, visually rich proposals that make clients see and feel the experience before it happens.

  • Identify and capitalize on upsell opportunities, ensuring events maximize impact and revenue.

Creative Execution & Production Collaboration

  • Work cross-functionally with production, operations, and creative teams to ensure seamless execution.

  • Conduct site visits and creative workshops to refine event design.

  • Manage fabrication vendors, prop sourcing, and installations, ensuring all elements align with the creative vision.

Strategic Contribution & Future Growth

  • Collaborate with leadership to refine Cloth & Flame’s creative and sales strategy for continued growth.

  • Identify new client opportunities and expand our footprint in experiential marketing.

  • Contribute to the development of brand activations, permanent installations, and VIP hospitality experiences.

Who You Are

  • 5+ years in experiential design, event production, or a related creative industry.

  • A creative visionary with a strategic mindset—you balance art direction, storytelling, and business acumen.

  • Master at pitching and selling ideas—you know how to make a concept feel irresistible.

  • Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite, SketchUp, or other 3D rendering tools (Rhino, AutoCAD, Vectorworks a plus).

  • Experience designing immersive environments, spatial layouts, and branded installations.

  • Strong understanding of event production and material selection.

  • Excellent presentation, communication, and client engagement skills.

  • Passion for experiential marketing, hospitality, and brand storytelling.

  • A fast-moving, adaptable problem solver who thrives in a dynamic, high-energy agency environment.

Future Growth: Building a Film & Media Division

  • This role also presents a unique opportunity to launch a film and media production arm at Cloth & Flame, creating cinematic event films, still photography, and branded storytelling content.

  • Lucrative earning potential (e.g., a single $30K project could yield $3K in additional compensation).

  • Future earnings could scale up to 180K+ annually as the division expands.

Success as an Event Designer will unlock this next step, building trust and setting the stage for the next evolution of Cloth & Flame’s creative offerings.
