Deer Stags is looking for an experienced social media content creator to produce content and manage the social media platforms for our men’s and kids’ shoe brand, Deer Stags. This position manages the look, feel, voice and strategy for our organic social presence on Meta (Facebook & Instagram, incl Stories and Threads), Youtube, Tik Tok, Lemon8 and Pinterest.

You will create posts from content provided by our in-house photographer/videographer, but also create fresh social-only content yourself, including the use of trendy themes, memes and audio relevant to the platforms. This content creator has the opportunity to become the face of the brand on social. There is a lot of opportunity to grow these channels, build and engage with our online community and amplify our brand presence on each.

The content creator has their finger on the pulse of current trends and best practices on social media and is motivated to bring fresh perspectives and ideas to the table. We are looking for someone who is creative, has a sense of humor and distinctive voice/POV on social, and is not shy about appearing in front of the camera! You will have a lot of freedom to play and experiment and we are looking for someone who is up for the challenge of revitalizing the Deer Stags’ social persona.

*In the first half of 2024, this position will also be a maternity leave cover and create weekly email newsletters

Requirements:

  • Must love shoes

  • Applicants must be located in New York City or in a surrounding area with ability to travel to our showroom in the city if needed.

  • A newer model IPhone with access to all of the above-mentioned apps and platforms, including a photo- and video editing program

  • Experience in Later

  • Availability to publish posts/stories during evening and weekend hours if they cannot be scheduled

  • Experience working in content creation/photography, particularly for apparel brands

  • Experience using Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest, Tik Tok and Youtube in a professional capacity

  • Experience with Klaviyo or other email marketing platform and creating professional email blasts

  • Familiarity with and interest in men’s/kids’ fashion and styling

  • Excellent and engaging writing and editing skills, especially versed in the nuances of the above mentioned social channels

  • Excellent organizational skills; comfortable with managing multiple projects and priorities at once

This is a freelance position with an estimated pay range of $1500-$2000 per month, depending on experience.
