DIELINE Awards Seeks a Motion Designer

DIELINE Awards

Seeks a Motion Designer

Anywhere

Hi creatives,

DIELINE is looking for a motion designer to help create the visual environment for the DIELINE Awards celebration in New York City this year.

We’re hosting the event in an immersive projection venue where the walls and floor become the visual canvas of the party.

Instead of traditional screens, the motion graphics will literally become the atmosphere of the event, wrapping around the space and creating a living design environment throughout the evening.

The venue features large immersive projection surfaces on the walls and floor, allowing motion graphics to wrap around the room and create a full visual environment.

Think immersive design installation, not presentation graphics.

The Project

We’re looking for someone to create a visual system that runs throughout the evening and celebrates the winning work from the DIELINE Awards.

The visuals will be projected across the immersive walls and floor of the venue, creating a dynamic design environment for the party.

You’ll be creating two main visual loops for the walls and one ambient animation for the floor.

Deliverables

1. Branded Immersive Loop (~30 minutes)

A seamless looping visual system that sets the tone for the event.

This may include:

  • DIELINE Awards branding and typography

  • Animated design elements inspired by packaging and dielines

  • 3D animation of the DIELINE Awards trophy

  • Graphic transitions and atmospheric visuals

  • Subtle sponsor integrations

We’ll provide:

  • 3D files of the DIELINE Awards trophy

  • past animated brand assets

  • DIELINE logos and brand files

2. Winner Showcase Loop (~30 minutes)

A gallery-style visual loop highlighting the winning packaging projects.

This will feature:

  • Packaging imagery from the winning entries

  • Occasional video assets from entrants

  • Category titles and designer credits

Assets from the winners will be available shortly after judging concludes, so we can start by creating the branded loop first and then build the winner showcase once those assets are available.

3. Ambient Floor Loop

A simple seamless animation designed for the projection-mapped floor.

This should function as visual atmosphere rather than content.

Examples could include:

  • Subtle gradients or light movement

  • Abstract dieline lines

  • Geometric packaging-inspired patterns

  • Slow moving graphic textures

The goal is to enhance the environment without distracting from the visuals on the walls.

Creative Direction

The visuals should feel:

  • Graphic and minimal

  • Bold but not overly busy

  • Elegant and design-forward

The goal is to create something that feels like a living design exhibition celebrating packaging, rather than a slideshow or presentation.

Motion should be designed to loop seamlessly and work well as an immersive background environment throughout the event.

Creative Collaboration

This project is intentionally open-ended, and we’re excited to collaborate with a motion designer who wants to help shape how the visuals come to life in the space.

Think less presentation graphics and more immersive design environment.

Budget

$4,000 – $5,000 depending on experience and scope.

Ideal Experience

Experience with any of the following is helpful:

  • Looping motion graphics

  • Immersive or large-scale displays

  • Projection environments or installations

  • Typography and graphic motion systems

  • 3D animation (Cinema 4D, Blender, etc.)

NYC-based designers are great for venue access, but remote is completely fine.

To Apply

Please send to andrew@thedieline.com

  • Examples of motion work

  • A link to your portfolio

  • Any relevant experience with immersive visuals or installation-style environments

This should be a fun creative project and a great opportunity to design visuals that will live across a large immersive projection environment and be seen by the packaging and design community.
