Hanna Li Interiors

Seeks a Senior Project Manager

Los Angeles, CA

About Hanna Li Interiors:

Hanna Li Interiors is a Los Angeles-based interior design studio specializing in highly considered residential environments, custom furnishings, architectural detailing, and material-driven design. Our work is rooted in craftsmanship, cultural history, art, and a deeply personal approach to creating spaces. As our studio continues to grow, we’re looking for an experienced Senior Project Manager who brings more than technical expertise. We’re looking for someone with exceptional judgment, emotional intelligence, curiosity, and the ability to lead with both confidence and thoughtfulness.

The Role:

The Senior Project Manager will oversee luxury residential projects from initial planning through final installation, coordinating our internal design team, clients, contractors, fabricators, vendors, and purchasing department. This role requires someone who can see the bigger picture while managing the smallest details.

We’re looking for a natural problem solver who anticipates challenges, takes ownership, and brings clarity to complex situations. Someone who understands that great project management is as much about people, communication, and intuition as it is about schedules and deliverables.

What You’ll Be Responsible For:

Project Leadership & Execution ---

  • Manage multiple high-end residential projects from concept through completion.

  • Oversee project timelines, budgets, procurement, construction coordination, and installations.

  • Coordinate designers, purchasing, contractors, artisans, and outside vendors.

  • Understand construction drawings, millwork, custom fabrication, and installation requirements.

  • Identify risks early and develop solutions before they become larger problems.

  • Maintain clear project documentation, accountability, and follow-through.

  • Lead meetings and communicate decisions, responsibilities, and deadlines.

Client & Team Relationships ----

  • Navigate different client personalities with professionalism, sensitivity, and confidence.

  • Build trust through thoughtful communication and consistent execution.

  • Manage difficult conversations without defensiveness or unnecessary escalation.

  • Collaborate closely with designers while respecting the studio’s creative direction.

  • Know when to make independent decisions and when to bring important matters to leadership.

  • Create a calm, organized environment even when projects become demanding.

The Qualities We Value Most:

1. Emotional Intelligence & Intuition:

  • You can read a room, understand different personalities, and adapt your communication accordingly. You know when someone needs reassurance, when a situation requires firmness, and when to listen before responding.

2. Ownership & Accountability:

  • You take responsibility for outcomes, not just assigned tasks. When something goes wrong, your first instinct is to understand the issue, communicate it clearly, and help resolve it rather than explain why it wasn’t your responsibility.

3. Proactive, Independent Thinking:

  • You don’t wait to be told what needs attention. You identify gaps, ask thoughtful questions, anticipate next steps, and bring solutions rather than simply reporting problems.

4. Composure & Conflict Resolution:

  • You remain grounded under pressure. You can navigate disagreement without personalizing it, communicate concerns early, and approach conflict with maturity and a genuine desire for resolution.

5. Adaptability & Growth Mindset:

  • You understand that a growing company requires evolving systems. You’re comfortable with change, open to feedback, and able to distinguish between important operational standards and processes that can be improved.

6. Judgment & Discernment:

  • You understand priorities, context, and consequences. You can distinguish urgent issues from minor inconveniences and know when something requires escalation. You don’t need a rule for every situation.

7. Intellectual Curiosity & Cultural Awareness:

  • You have an appreciation for architecture, design, craftsmanship, art, and the cultural context behind our work. You enjoy learning and can engage thoughtfully with clients, craftspeople, and creative collaborators.

8. Positive, Collaborative Leadership:

  • You contribute to a culture of trust, respect, and shared ambition. You can respectfully challenge ideas, support decisions once made, and help the team move forward without creating unnecessary friction.

Experience & Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of project management experience, ideally in luxury residential interior design, architecture, or high-end construction.

  • Proven ability to manage projects independently from beginning to end.

  • Strong understanding of construction processes, custom millwork, furniture production, and procurement.

  • Experience managing project budgets, schedules, vendor relationships, and client expectations.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication.

  • Strong organizational skills and comfort with digital project management systems.

  • Ability to work effectively with designers, contractors, and multidisciplinary teams.

  • Familiarity with AI tools and an interest in using technology to improve efficiency and operations.

  • Experience managing multiple concurrent projects and resolving complex logistical challenges.

Who Will Thrive Here:

  • Someone who genuinely enjoys responsibility and sees challenges as opportunities to improve.

  • Someone who is both highly organized and deeply perceptive.

  • Someone who can work independently without becoming disconnected from the team.

  • Someone who brings concerns forward early, welcomes constructive feedback, and understands that strong leadership requires both confidence and humility.

  • Most importantly, someone who believes that exceptional work comes from a combination of technical excellence, personal integrity, thoughtful collaboration, and continuous growth.

Why Join Us:

Hanna Li Interiors is entering an exciting period of growth, with opportunities to help shape our project management systems, operational culture, and the next chapter of the studio.

We’re looking for someone who wants to contribute meaningfully to that growth, take pride in the work we create, and build a long-term career within a thoughtful, ambitious creative practice.
