Our Place seeks a Director of Photography (DP) with experience in filming culinary content to help bring high-quality, long-form cooking content to life on YouTube. The ideal candidate is resourceful, experienced with multi-camera setups, and comfortable working with a small, agile crew.

Role Requirements:

  • Food Filming Expertise – Experience capturing high-quality, appetizing food/culinary footage with strong lighting and composition skills.

  • Mid to Long-Form YouTube Experience – Comfortable filming 8-12 minute episodes with a multi-camera setup.

  • Multi-Cam & Sound Setup – Ability to execute a three-camera shoot (two static, one handheld) with sound with just one assist.

  • Efficient & Scrappy – Can work effectively with a tight team (2 total) while maintaining a professional look.

  • Talent Direction – Experience working with on-camera hosts, guiding them for the best delivery and framing.

  • Budget-Conscious – Can execute production within a budget of $3.5K (equipment provided by the client).


Project Details:

Dates: March 24

Shoot Length: 8 hours (2-3 hours for prelight, 5-6 hours for shoot)

Crew Size: 2 people but happy to discuss a 3rd person if within budget

Equipment: Provided by the client

Location: Kitchen production studio in Sawtelle

Compensation: $3.5k
