I was getting really disheartened at how reliant folks have become with having generative AI lead their marketing and communications processes, but I didn't know how to weave the words together myself. My experiences in e-commerce Content Management, freelancing for first-gen business founders, and desire for authentic storytelling stitched together this creative tapestry in me that felt like it didn't know how to translate itself for all the different collectives I'd come across in my (net)work. After completing the Digital Marketing Course and Shopify Course, I knew the ilovecreatives community had the low-down for laying sturdy creative freelancing foundations.

I learned that Social Media Marketing and Email Marketing aren't the flowers I'd grow in my creative garden, but knowing how to write AND curate copy across interconnecting digital platforms are critical seeds for growing relevant following + brand recognition.

My favorite parts of the course were learning the variations of copywriting, their purposes, and having a bit of hand holding in the learning process. The feedback examples spread across the sections and "make your own adventure" mode in the workbook didn't feel like I had to navigate a personal maze. If anything, I didn't feel like I *had* to get comfortable with a platform or style I didn't feel connected to.

The brainstorming process and creative brief felt like a brain teaser, but I'm grateful I got a taste of which writing sessions I had patience for 🫣. Also, I really enjoyed being able to think about the relationship between brand strategy and SEO through tone of voice reflection.
