Q What do you do?
“Hi there! My name is Taylor and I’m the founder of Somewhere Else Studios. Somewhere Else Studios is a boutique communications and creative agency working with brands in the design, travel, and hospitality spaces. ”
We offer social media management, content creation, PR, editorial, email marketing, and consulting services. We're based in NYC and offer our services worldwide.
Some of our previous and current clients include HGTV's Jasmine Roth, Sarah Solis, Galerie Solis, BYRD, and The Beachcomber Cafe.
Q What steps did you take to get to where you are now?
I have a degree in journalism and a minor in entrepreneurship from the University of Southern California. Looking back, all of my previous work experience and internships throughout college (Refinery29, The Zoe Report, Beach Riot, The Little Market) really helped guide me to where I am today. Post grad, my role as senior editor for a small company gave me hands-on experience in the editorial world and incredible connections + communication to brands, PR companies, and more.
I've always been extremely dedicated with my work and will admit I'm a bit of a workaholic (it's the Capricorn in me).
Q How do you stand out in your field?
I'm currently pursing my Master's degree at USC in Public Relations Management, Strategy, and Innovation in order to provide the best for my clients. I work with the perspective that every client / account is my own brand. This gives me the dedication, drive, and creativity to help my clients succeed and reach their goals.
Q What are you working on right now?
Continuing to build and grow Somewhere Else Studios.
Q What’s your style?
I would describe my personal style / perspective / taste as authentic, serene, organic, elevated, and sophisticated. For my clients, it of course depends on their brand and audience.
Q Out of all your slashies, which one do you wish you could do more often?
Writing!
Q What is frustrating you right now?
I'd love to start a digital marketing-forward newsletter for Somewhere Else Studios....when there's time!
Q If you could hire someone for $20/hour, what would you have them do to make your day easier?
Help with community management and graphics. Also manifesting an assistant.
Q What do you wish you could have told yourself, when, and why?
Start sooner, trust yourself, and know your worth.
Q If you could talk to an expert to gain more insight on something, what would it be about?
How do you structure your day? Plus some specific hiring questions.
Q What kind of opportunities/projects are you looking for?
Here at Somewhere Else Studios, we're looking to take on bigger PR projects.
We're interested in working with new social media clients in the hospitality and design spaces. I love working with female founders. I'm open to projects revolving around creative campaigns that tell a story.
Q Describe your ideal job/client/collaboration.
My ideal client / collaboration at the moment is working with a boutique hotel or a luxury hotel group.
Q What is your rate?
We create and send out custom proposals to all of our potential clients, depending on scope of work and timeline.
Q How should someone approach you about working together?
Please email taylor@somewhereelsestudios.com what you are looking for and we'll set up a time to chat! www.somewhereelsestudios.com
Q Who is a creative you admire?
Shouting out a few of my favorite graphic designers! All of them are such a joy to work with and are SO talented. Reilly with Little Creative Co., Marisa with November Design Studio, and Madi with Madi Wooters Design.
Q Oh! and… how do you stay creative?
Traveling, reading, and being in nature.
