Q What do you do?
“Hi there! I’m Taylor, founder of Somewhere Else Studios — a boutique communications agency based in New York City specializing in the hospitality, travel, and interior design industries.”
We work with boutique hotels, interior designers, and design-forward lifestyle companies on social media management, content creation, public relations, email marketing, editorial, and brand consulting. Our approach is hands-on, strategic, and built around the needs of hospitality and design brands looking to grow their digital presence and attract the right audience.

Q What steps did you take to get to where you are now?
My path to founding Somewhere Else Studios was built at the intersection of journalism and brand strategy. I studied journalism at the University of Southern California (with a minor in entrepreneurship). I'm currently completing my Master's in Public Relations Strategy, Innovation, and Management, also at USC.
Before launching Somewhere Else Studios, I spent several years in editorial and brand communications, including a senior editorial role where I built deep relationships across the lifestyle and design space. This shaped how I think about storytelling, what makes a brand narrative actually land, and how to move between the creative and the strategic.
I'm extremely dedicated to our work and partner with brands that align closely with our values.
Q How do you stand out in your field?
When you work with Somewhere Else Studios, we are your partner, not a vendor. We're invested in your brand's growth just as much as you are. We work with a selective number of clients because we have a hands-on approach built around your goals, care about your success, and are invested in the outcome.
Somewhere Else Studios works exclusively with design-forward brands in hospitality, travel, and interior design. Every strategy we build, every piece of content we create, and every relationship we cultivate comes from a team that genuinely understands your world and knows how to tell your story within it.
Q What are you working on right now?
I have a full-plate at any given time and that's how I like it! I'm focused on growing Somewhere Else Studios to be the best it can possibly be.
Q What’s your style?
I would describe my style as authentic, organic, elevated, and sophisticated. We're focused on producing quality, creative content that tells a story and engages an audience.
Q Out of all your slashies, which one do you wish you could do more often?
Writing!
Q What is frustrating you right now?
Another project I've had in the works for quite some time...I want to give it the energy and attention it deserves!
Q If you could hire someone for $20/hour, what would you have them do to make your day easier?
An assistant would be incredible.
Q What do you wish you could have told yourself, when, and why?
Just start. And know your worth. And you should have started posting on TiKTok in 2020.
Q If you could talk to an expert to gain more insight on something, what would it be about?
I'm always so curious how other successful female founders structure their day.
Q What kind of opportunities/projects are you looking for?
Social media management, content creation, and PR for boutique and luxury hotels. I am also available for consulting projects in this space.
Q Describe your ideal job/client/collaboration.
We typically work with female founders, which is something I'm always inspired and amazed by. My ideal client is someone who is communicative, kind, and trusts our expertise!

We create custom proposals for all potential clients, depending on a number of factors such as goals, timeline, cadence, and more. Our rates typically start at $2,000/month.

Q Who is a creative you admire?

Traveling, reading, and being in nature.
