Q What do you do?
“I build websites for entrepreneurs, authors, and small businesses AND I teach other web designers how to work with clients without losing their minds.”
Q What steps did you take to get to where you are now?
I've been working in web design for over 20 years and in 2018, pivoted my business to focues solely on Squarespace. I started creating content through blogging and later added YouTube to help folks with Squarespace.
Q How do you stand out in your field?
I'm a Squarespace Community Leader, Platinum Circle Member, and Authorized Trainer. I've guest posted on the Squarespace blog and am also a HoneyBook educator and Breely Pro.
Q What are you working on right now?
My signature course The Web Designer's Playbook™ teaches designers my exact system for running custom web design projects with ease, streamlining their client systems so they can sell and deliver custom websites with confidence.
Q What’s your style?
Minimal and modern, I build websites that stand the test of time. You can see my aesthetic in my Squarespace template shop or in my portfolio.
Q Out of all your slashies, which one do you wish you could do more often?
If I could wave a magic wand, I'd have more time for both web design projects and helping other web designers grow their businesses.
Q What is frustrating you right now?
For years this was YouTube, but in 2024 I finally hit my stride and have been posting at least one video a week since then. At the moment, I'd say Pinterest marketing is on my list but never seems to get done.
Q If you could hire someone for $20/hour, what would you have them do to make your day easier?
I really enjoy my work, so I'd have them do laundry, clean my house, and make healthy meals!
Q What do you wish you could have told yourself, when, and why?
2018 when I pivoted my business to Squarespace. Past Christy, start your email marketing NOW and start posting helpful videos weekly to YouTube. You'll thank me later.
Q If you could talk to an expert to gain more insight on something, what would it be about?
My recoding setup. Why are cameras and lighting so hard?!
Q What kind of opportunities/projects are you looking for?
Great fits for my two day website service and connecting with other Squarespace designers who might find my digital products helpful.
Q Describe your ideal job/client/collaboration.
Solopreneurs who know what they offer and need a website to reflect that. New authors or are self-publishing or got a book deal and realized they have to do the marketing themselves and need a solid starter website.
Q: What is your rate?
My Two Day Websites start at $2750, custom builds are typically $6000+.
