Q What do you do?

I am an artist representative and producer for photographers and directors sharing services to advertising agencies, corporations, government entities, design firms, magazines, in house marketing departments for all types of brands and production companies.

Q What steps did you take to get to where you are now?

After graduating with a degree in photography and working for two heavy hitter studios in Baltimore, I decided to start my own artist representative business. In the early days before I opened Wolff & Co, I did all jobs great and small for the studios and it taught me a lot about the production side of the business. I love being the link between two creative entities: the client and the artist, so producing is a natural role. I am super energetic, organized, professional and fair so those attributes have added to my and my artists’ successes. We deliver superlative work and service.

Q How do you stand out in your field?

With 30+ years of experience for a huge range of clients worldwide, I have a depth of knowledge that streamlines production and creative output. We have had some clients for as long as 27 years so buyers come back over and over again. We also have unique creative services combined with production know-how to help keep projects on time and on budget. We are known for early strategy sessions with clients regarding budgets- how to allocate production dollars to give the most production value.

Q What are you working on right now?

Current projects include lifestyle campaign photography for a national senior living community that involves production support from hiring all the crew and professional models as well as working with the existing locations and real residents. I am also coordinating still photography and video asset production for a local university. We have a large project in the works for a regional energy corporation as well that will include photography and video campaign work. Corporate headshots and office lifestyle photography for various financial institutions occurs on a regular basis.

Q What’s your style?

Style interests vary because the projects also vary. Ideally we would like to work with folks who bring their own vision to the project.

Q Out of all your slashies, which one do you wish you could do more often?

I would love to partner with more photographers and directors that are not on my roster in order to keep learning and seeing other’s ways of production and creativity. This makes the client or end users of the content confident in range of capabilities.

Q What is frustrating you right now?

The most frustrating thing is the lack of work from former clients so I would love to expand and work with new clients and other creators. Budgets have been cut and many clients have in-house capabilities so don’t look outside their own people for support. Also, in-person sales calls are super hard to get these days, people are either not in the office or if they are, don’t have”time”...

Q If you could hire someone for $20/hour, what would you have them do to make your day easier?

Social media planning!

Q What do you wish you could have told yourself, when, and why?

I wish perhaps when starting my business, I would have taken more time to be the photographer instead of the rep/producer and told myself, “You Can Do It”, take the risk and don’t worry about money. Now that I know what I know, I think I could have been the creative entity of a photographer. I would NOT trade that for where I am today, however because I learned so much with the partners and clients I have worked with along the way.

Q If you could talk to an expert to gain more insight on something, what would it be about?

How to use social media SEO, AEO and GEO to maximize client interest that leads to bookings.

Q What kind of opportunities/projects are you looking for?

Anything with new people who need experienced partners and are fun and hip to work with.

Q Describe your ideal job/client/collaboration.

It’s really fun when someone new reaches out and has ideas that are unique but don’t always know how to bring them to life within a reasonable budget. To partner and plan together and feel like you are contributing is the most fun.

Q: What is your rate?

For freelance producing I charge between $800-1000 per day. Sometimes I accept job rates depending on the project client and budget/turnaround. The photographers I rep vary in day rate depending on image use and media buy plus production expenses.

Q How should someone approach you about working together?

Ideally reaching out via email with a scope of work, budget and samples of the vision. Approved creative is really appreciated but we often look at WIP in order to help streamline what creative can be executed. And, we LOVE to have the usage specifications up front.

Q Who is a creative you admire?

All the artists on my roster because we have a track record together and I know they can deliver! There are a few others in the region that I partner with depending on the clients' goals. I also connect with folks around the world and find what is needed if the clients need art buying services as well. Billy Childress, Peter Howard, Helen Norman, Cade Martin.

Q Oh! and… how do you stay creative?

Spend time with other creative beings, Visit Museums!
