Q What do you do?

I’m a visual designer & art director specializing in creating print and digital work that elevates you and your brand.

Q What steps did you take to get to where you are now?

I was always enamored by design and most importantly fashion magazines. I’d rip them to shreds finding my new favorite spreads and paste them to my bedroom walls (& doors!). After I watched “The September Issue” during my senior year of high school, I knew I needed to figure out how to be a part of the design magic.

Even though I grew up in the cultural hub of LA, I decided to study in as many major design cities far from home as I could starting with Parsons School of Design in New York City where I received a BFA in Communication Design, and then to the University of Arts: Chelsea in London for a MA in Graphic Design Communication.

It was wild to fulfill my childhood dream of working at a fashion magazine right out of college at Lucky Magazine, a Condé Nast title in 2013, but after a year of working in magazine publishing, I decided to move back to Los Angeles to take up freelancing at companies like Violet Grey, The Los Angeles Times, Winc Wines, Smashbox Cosmetics, and the Rachel Zoe Media Group.

After 5 years of working in-house at a variety of companies, in March 2018, I formally launched my design practice/business Greetings From (greetingsfrom.studio). Over the past 7+ years, I’ve had the opportunity to work with friends, clients, and the likes to bring their amazing visions to life and I couldn’t be more humbled by it!

Q How do you stand out in your field?

I have always been a world builder (🙋🏻‍♀️ lifelong daydreamer!) I love collaborating with clients and helping them design and create the world they envision for their work. It brings me so much joy to use their vision as a jumping-off point and see how far I can go in any creative direction!

Q What are you working on right now?

I’m definitely someone who likes to have a handful of different projects going on at the same time to keep the creative juices flowing.

I’m currently working on a bunch of websites with a handful of them being in the hospitality/lifestyle space, creative directing and producing photoshoots for some awesome CPG brands, as well as brainstorming my next personal project with my friend and collaborator, Alix Luntz.

Q What’s your style?

I would say my aesthetic is clean and crisp but also punchy and playful. It’s a nice mix of refinement and high energy. What I think is great about my style is that it’s adaptable to each client I work with so no two projects are the same. My Pinterest is probably the best way to get an understanding of where my creativity is pushing me at the moment.

Q Out of all your slashies, which one do you wish you could do more often?

I love when I have the opportunity to art direct photoshoots for clients! It’s a stressful task, but collaborating in real-time with other creatives to bring a vision to life lights me up and really lets “my eye” shine!

Besides that, I have a bunch of personal projects I'd love to bring to fruition: some include a restaurant, a handful of TV shows, and dabbling in fashion & interiors product development.

Q What is frustrating you right now?

Since starting my own studio, I’ve noticed that I have a tendency to get super wrapped up in my work, whether it’s work I’m doing for clients or personal projects I am concocting during quiet times. There comes a point in every project when you just have to step away and let the work stand for itself. It’s definitely a learning process in trusting my gut. The more work I put out there, the more I can watch the outcomes and learn from how the projects are received.

Q If you could hire someone for $20/hour, what would you have them do to make your day easier?

Ooo! That's a hard one, I recently hired my first employee and she's been a godsend! It would be great to work with someone to help me get some of my personal projects off the ground (specifically the TV show ones, any writers available for tutoring? 😅)

Q What do you wish you could have told yourself, when, and why?

I would probably tell my early-20’s self to stop freaking out so much. Life and work are not about the small details you can’t control. Taking a deep breath (& being in therapy) can really do wonders. I’d also say to stop (or try to!) being afraid of putting yourself out there. Connecting with others in the industry whether that’s peers, past supervisors, or even idols will not only make you feel less alone, but you never know what future work it could bring you!

Q If you could talk to an expert to gain more insight on something, what would it be about?

I’m always looking to learn more about what’s next with innovative technologies. As AI and generative art become more widespread, I think it’s fascinating to learn about the many ways they can be applied for the future good.

Q What kind of opportunities/projects are you looking for?

I’d love to work with more clients on merch lines and alternative forms of brand storytelling like zines, short-form books, and intentional ephemera.

I’d be remiss if I didn’t also mention how I’d love to take on more photoshoots, branding projects, and websites too! All are areas I feel really comfortable in and know I can knock them out of the park 😄

Q Describe your ideal job/client/collaboration.

I personally love when clients come to me with an idea and say “Have at it!” It’s so special to know I have their trust and confidence to bring it all together. And it usually ends up being some of my favorite projects!

Q: What is your rate?

Pricing can range from $1.5-$50k+ depending on the scope of work. I know that range can be quite daunting and seems wide! But if your interest is piqued, please reach out! I’m always working on (& finding!) new ways to work within a budget that’s brought to me.

Q How should someone approach you about working together?

The best way to reach me is via email: whatsup@greetingsfrom.studio or if you’re ready to chat, putting time on my calendar for an intro call here.

I love a good emoji or gif so please send me your faves! In general, I’d love to hear about the scope of what you are looking to have done and if you have a budget. It’s also great to see inspiration you already have—because let’s be real you’ve definitely already done a Pinterest deep dive. This way we can start off on the same page and go from there!
