Seeks a Social Designer

Remote but prefer ET or PT Part-time

As our Social Designer, you'll be the person turning ideas into the stuff people stop scrolling for. This role lives at the intersection of design, internet culture, and course marketing. You'll take a loose concept and figure out how it becomes a carousel, a story, a launch graphic, or something we haven't made yet. If you think in hooks, swipes, and screenshot-potential as much as you think in layout and type, you may be a great fit!

Details:

  • Position: Social Designer

  • Location: Remote

  • Type: Part-Time

  • Direct Report: Marketing Lead

What You’ll Do:

🎨 Social Design

  • Design Instagram carousels, posts, stories, and other social assets that carry the ilovecreatives brand across our channels.

  • Develop visual concepts for campaigns, launches, partnerships, events, editorial, and community content.

  • Take a loose content idea and figure out how it actually becomes a piece of social creative.

  • Build repeatable templates and systems for recurring content, so quality scales without slowing down.

  • Keep the feed consistent without making it boring. Recognizable energy, not rigid repetition.

💡 Creative Concepting

  • Land on the actual idea before you open Figma. What makes someone stop and engage?

  • Shape the hook, the framing, and how a concept unfolds slide by slide.

  • Decide what deserves to be shown visually versus explained in copy.

  • Make educational content feel culturally relevant instead of a lecture, brochure, or course syllabus.

  • Connect current design and internet language back to the ilovecreatives voice.

  • Make course promotion feel like useful content, not traditional advertising.

📈 Content Development & Innovation

  • Contribute to hooks, headlines, carousel structures, on-slide copy, and CTAs.

  • Pull references from outside graphic design too: memes, forums, fashion, music, old websites, subcultures, whatever people are already sharing.

  • Explore AI-assisted creative tools and emerging formats (motion, interactive, whatever's next) to keep our workflow and our output ahead of the curve.

  • Prototype new approaches to content and audience engagement while keeping quality and brand integrity intact.

🗣️ Art Direction & Feedback

  • Act as a creative sounding board for the team: review concepts, give feedback, and flag when something feels off-brand before it ships.

  • Help push a visual idea as far as it can go, and know when it's gone too far.

  • Share references and inspiration that raise the bar for the whole team.

  • Help translate a strategic goal into an actual creative execution, not just a brief.

What we are looking for:

  • 3+ years of design experience, with a strong portfolio showing social content, carousels, or campaign work (illustration, video, or motion is a plus).

  • You design for the platform, not just the resize. You think about swipe progression, density, screenshot potential, and whether it still reads at mobile size.

  • Personality over polish. Work that feels like a real creative person made it because they had an idea, not something generated to spec.

  • You treat the brand as a playground; consistency to you means recognizable energy, not identical templates.

  • Comfortable pulling references from outside design: internet culture, subcultures, product interfaces, old-web ephemera, whatever's floating around.

Requirements:

  • Self-starter who can manage daily design work and longer-horizon projects without a lot of hand-holding.

  • Proactive about flagging blockers, timeline gaps, and capacity before they become a problem.

  • Comfortable making judgment calls without a perfect brief. Every project looks a little different, whether it's a launch, an editorial series, or everyday content, and we're not handing you a template for everything.

  • Growth mindset: you bring ideas to the table, take feedback well, and help improve the process as you go.

  • Collaborative and async-friendly. You know when to loop someone in versus when to just make the call.

  • You move fast between tools without them getting in the way of the idea.

  • A genuine interest in creative education and community. No gatekeeping, no exclusivity.

Experience With:

Figma, Adobe Creative Suite, and Notion for the day-to-day; familiarity with AI-powered creative tools is a plus. Motion, illustration, or video experience earns you extra points.

Who this isn’t for:

Someone who needs a tight brief and a lot of hand-holding to get moving. Think of us as a collective of working creatives; every piece of work looks a little different depending on what the moment calls for. If you're not comfortable making judgment calls without a perfect brief, this role will be a stretch. If you'd rather amplify a strong idea than compensate for a weak one, and you want to help shape the systems you're part of, we'd love to meet you.
