Stardust Arts seeks a versatile and detail-oriented Graphic Designer to provide essential visual support to Molly Gochman Studio and the broader Stardust organization. This role is primarily focused on high-quality design execution and production of visual collateral, ensuring aesthetic alignment with the artist’s brand. The ideal candidate possesses strong design fundamentals and a collaborative mindset. They must be prepared to contribute thoughtful input while efficiently managing diverse projects under the guidance of the Director of Communications.

This is a full-time position based in New York City with a hybrid schedule. The desired start date is February 2 or 9, 2026.


Key Responsibilities

Responsibilities are divided into two main areas with Molly Gochman Studio (primary) and organizational support for Stardust (secondary).


Molly Gochman Studio Design, Visuals & Collateral

  • Work collaboratively with the Director of Communications and the artist to support the identification, implementation, and maintenance of the studio’s design system and visual brand guidelines.

  • Produce graphic design and visual collateral that adheres to the artist’s aesthetic and established studio brand guidelines, ensuring visual harmony across all output.

  • Proactively offer creative input and insights to the studio’s graphic design, supporting the refinement and evolution of visual materials under the direction of the Director of Communications, ensuring effective support for the artist’s practice and ethos.

  • Execute all design work with a strong command of typography, composition, and message hierarchy, ensuring clarity and impact across all mediums.


Stardust Organization Ancillary Support

  • Providing essential graphic design support for internal and external projects across the various pillars of Stardust.

  • Develop clean, professional print and digital materials to support various initiatives, including internal event communications and presentations for stakeholders.


For both areas of work, the candidate will manage vendor relationships and oversee the production lifecycle, which includes sourcing vendors, performing quality control, managing final design deliverables, and processing payments.


Deliverables & Production

  • The designer will be responsible for preparing a wide range of assets, including:

  • Website visuals and social media assets.

  • Postcards, brochures, exhibition materials, basic signage, etc.

  • Presentation decks and reports.

  • Final press-ready files for print production.

  • Maintain organized design files and libraries for seamless collaboration across the organization.


Requirements

  • 3-5 years of professional experience in graphic design (agency or in-house).

  • Expert working knowledge of the Adobe Creative Cloud (CC) Suite, including Illustrator, InDesign, and Photoshop. Proficiency is also required in presentation software (such as PowerPoint and Keynote) and other visual design and collaboration tools (such as Figma and Lucid).

  • Demonstrated strong foundation in typography, layout, color theory, and composition across both print and digital media.

  • Proficiency in designing a variety of collateral, including postcards, exhibition materials, and social media assets.


Desired Qualifications

  • Ability to efficiently translate ambiguous and complex messages into effective creative visual narratives across web, print, and digital form.

  • Highly organized and capable of managing multiple concurrent projects and pivoting between project directives while maintaining a consistent visual tone.

  • Possess excellent communication and emotional intelligence in team interactions, ensuring alignment on feedback and flexibility in incorporating revisions into design solutions.

  • Thrive within a small, high-touch collaborative team environment where the workflow ebbs and flows. Must be adept at iterating quickly during peak moments, demonstrating strong self-direction and a proactive mindset to ensure high-quality, reliable, and quick output.

  • Must be willing to adjust working hours (including non-traditional work hours, i.e. early mornings/evenings) for last-minute efforts to meet critical studio deadlines. We respect and value personal boundaries, but expect flexibility and commitment to final project delivery.

  • Knowledge and genuine interest in contemporary art and culture is highly preferred.


Compensation and Benefits

Annual Salary: $65,000 - $80,000, commensurate with experience.
