I took the Squarespace Design Course! I chose to take this course because I knew the end assignment would be to design and build my own custom site. When I discovered the SDC course I knew it would be a perfect opportunity to start building the creative world I had inside my head.

While taking the course I impressed myself by how quickly I was able to follow along with the videos and actually digest the information taught to me. Puno makes each lesson SO approachable!

My favorite thing about the course was the time spent learning and experimenting with Squarespace's features. I truly understand just how far I can push a design on Squarespace without using any code while also feeling totally comfortable and prepared to use code in a website if I desire to!

I would recommend any student taking the course to allow yourself to make mistakes, learn from them, and start over when needed! Especially when it comes to drafting comps for your custom site assignment, don't be afraid to play around with your design and change things to be different than an idea you have in your head! Play is essential.

The best thing to come out of this course for me was the feedback I received. I was so, so inspired by the attention to detail from Puno and felt so encouraged after hearing back from her after she reviewed my custom site! I felt more motivated than ever to inject EVEN MORE personality into my designing. I also gained better perspective on how to adjust my site to be more digestible and immersive for viewers.
