I took the Graphic Design Course because I was looking to change careers and get started in the creative industry but had no idea how or where to start. This course offered everything I was looking for and more that I did not know I needed. This course taught me what industry professionals are using at work and the essentials to Adobe and Figma as well as their most used tools and tricks. It gave me invaluable lessons on the design process and equipped me step by step to create a portfolio I am proud of.

Without formal education on graphic design and being a perfectionist by nature, I had impostor syndrome. But this course showed me how to manage it. Puno was extremely supportive and encouraging every step of the way and addressed all those creative blocks with great empathy and insight in her videos. Also, I learned how to be disciplined and resilient and not to give up given that the course is self-paced and there were many moments in my journey I succumbed to self doubt and self criticism.

My favourite thing about the course is the community we were invited to join and the vast resources they share with you. I felt less isolated and lost doing the course because we could reach out in the discord chat to share our progress, get rewards for it and ask questions and get moral support.

If you are a complete beginner like I was before taking the course, be prepared to research additional tutorials on the adobe programs in conjunction to the course material and spend a lot of time practicing and getting familiarised with the programs. Try not to get discouraged if you face some setbacks or feel like you are not progressing as you think you would like to because you are! Don't give up and remember that progress is not linear. All those small steps you take will add up to big results if you just keep going!
