I have wanted to transition into doing graphic design without an idea on how to start, especially while keeping my day job that I need to keep bills paid. This was such a perfect way to do that, since it was self-paced and online. I already had a very basic understanding of using photoshop, but my goal was to learn design skills I'd need to get started on this career path and to create a portfolio.
I think one of the most eye-opening parts of the course for me was creating the brand guidelines. Working in branding, I've done brand audits, but it was awesome to see how I could use that knowledge to revamp/create a new brand.
My favorite thing about the course is having a design portfolio! The instructors are great at helping you tidy your projects to get them in a portfolio worthy place.I already landed a freelance project with a pretty cool brand because I reached out and shared the portfolio I made in this course.
