Q What do you do?

I’m a freelance copywriter and the author of an editorial blog called the Business of Creatives. I’m also the founder of DreamLayne, a copywriting studio supporting creatives with the copy and blog essentials for a keyword optimized website.

Q What steps did you take to get to where you are now?

After graduating from college with a Bachelor of Science in Merchandising, I worked in corporate marketing on both the client and agency side for about 10 years. I am now a freelance copywriter and business owner hoping to make the world more creative.

It took about 2 years into DreamLayne for me to look inward when it came to how I was approaching my business. I started writing and the truth started glowing from me like a beam of sunshine. I needed to get back to the vision. I needed to stop thinking my dreams weren't possible. So I started writing all the things I hope to see for creatives, the marketing industry, and the world.

I have now learned only the person with the vision can do what it takes to make it come true, and aligned creative collaboration can help make the vision more clear.

The most important step I took to get where I am now is self-reflection.

Q How do you stand out in your field?

I believe simplicity allows us space to be creative in an overwhelming world. I approach my process as simple yet meaningful as possible so the true message has room to blossom into reality.

Q What are you working on right now?

I'm working on articles for the DreamLayne blog, Business of Creatives.

Q What’s your style?

My style is editorial with a fun vibe. Calming with an energizing aura.

Q Out of all your slashies, which one do you wish you could do more often?

I recently transitioned DreamLayne's focus to website copywriting and organic SEO content writing. I've always loved website strategy and writing, so this feels like the perfect blend.

Q What is frustrating you right now?

Focusing on accounting, taxes, legal, etc. instead of the projects. Gotta go with the flow on those things though.

Q If you could hire someone for $20/hour, what would you have them do to make your day easier?

Accounting, Taxes, all those things.

Q What do you wish you could have told yourself, when, and why?

I would tell my younger self to never stop believing the dream can be reality. Don't get distracted by others and just keep getting to know yourself, love yourself, and never stop creating.

Q If you could talk to an expert to gain more insight on something, what would it be about?

I'm actually trying to talk to myself more through journaling. I want more insight into myself, so I write everyday.

Q What kind of opportunities/projects are you looking for?

Brand and SEO Copywriting, Editorial Assignments, Blog Writing

Q Describe your ideal job/client/collaboration.

I love collaborating with other creatives.

Q: What is your rate?

Freelance Copywriting starts at $45/hr, and DreamLayne services for Copy and Blog Essentials start at $800
