Q What do you do?

I design brand identities for small Millennial and Gen Z-owned businesses, especially those targeting women and LGBTQ customer bases.

I also design merch such as enamel pins and tees.

Q What steps did you take to get to where you are now?

I'm pretty much completely self taught - years ago I was working full time as knitting pattern designer and knitting blogger, but eventually burnt out and started pursuing illustration, and began selling my own designs on merch. Now I've moved on to specialize in brand identity design, which fulfills my passion for working in many different aesthetics and niches.

Q How do you stand out in your field?

I describe my work as "retro lovecore kitsch" - I'm not afraid of color or unconventional design decisions. I want my clients to stand out and become one of those brands that people will even buy just for the dope packaging. I believe in avoiding clichés by never adhering too completely to only one aesthetic- your brand should be somewhat undefinable, so that the only definition is YOU.

Q What are you working on right now?

Outside of my client work, I'm putting together some courses about merch design and doing a big secret personal illustration project.

Q What’s your style?

I skew colorful and late 20th century retro, mixed with a bit of tumblr-era dreaminess. This project is a pretty good example:

Q Out of all your slashies, which one do you wish you could do more often?

Writing - I have several half-baked book ideas.

Q What is frustrating you right now?

Instagram's increasing hostility towards static images has been a real headache- I can make reels but I'd rather put that time into making the actual art!

Q If you could hire someone for $20/hour, what would you have them do to make your day easier?

Honestly? Massage my neck and correct my posture. Computer work is hard on the old bod.

Q What do you wish you could have told yourself, when, and why?

When you're deciding whether to major in graphic design or psychology, pick graphic design, haha.

Q If you could talk to an expert to gain more insight on something, what would it be about?

How best to expand my services from where I am now.

Q What kind of opportunities/projects are you looking for?

Brand identities for cool small businesses are my bread and butter but I also LOVE designing merch items like pins and patches.

Q Describe your ideal job/client/collaboration.

My ideal client is someone who offers a genuinely cool product or service and isn't afraid to go bold with their brand. They understand #aesthetic and the strange liminal dream state that the online generations have been steeped in for the last 30 years. Their business is socially aware but still stylish and fun.

Q What is your rate?

My brand packages start at $1,666.00. My hourly rate is $70/hr but for most things I am able to give you a quote for the whole project. I do have discounted rates for non-profits and am currently offering pro-bono logos for organizations that assist with abortion access in hostile states.

Q How should someone approach you about working together?

They can use the contact form on my website

Or email directly: wildhuntdesign@gmail.com

Drop as much info as you're willing to- the more the better!

Q Who is a creative you admire?

OMG I follow hundreds of amazing creatives, but I am currently obsessed with Clarice Tudor

Q Oh! and… how do you stay creative?

Honor the creative energy levels. Work when high, rest when low.
