I am the founder of Scrl app (recently acquired), Ism App, and a perfume brand that is launching later this year.

Q What steps did you take to get to where you are now?
I was always interested in design growing up. I got my hands on a pirated Photoshop and my journey began there. I used to collect many magazines and love to admire good design. I majored in industrial / product design at the University of Illinois and got my master’s at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago.
Q How do you stand out in your field?
I try to bridge the creative world with the tech world. Branding is essential for me. I also use my Latine background and focus on my culture. It impacted me so much in my journey so it’s important to show that through my work.
Q What are you working on right now?
I recently quit my job at TikTok last week as a product designer. I am working on my second app called Ism. I'm also working on a fragrance project, so I am traveling to Mexico often. I'm a partner for 2 restaurants in Mexico City.
Q What’s your style?
I feel like it's my purpose to show a different side of being Latino. We are very creative. My moodboard consists of Vicente Fernandez, next to Virgil Abloh, next to Bad Bunny, next to Norm Architects. It’s a fusion of Latin America and high-end artisan projects.
Q Out of all your slashies, which one do you wish you could do more often?
Being human. Spreading love. Volunteering.
Q If you could hire someone for $20/hour, what would you have them do to make your day easier?
Manage and help me design.
Q What do you wish you could have told yourself, when, and why?
Our cultura is important and is beautiful. Don’t shy away from it.
Q If you could talk to an expert to gain more insight on something, what would it be about?
I just want to talk to Pharrell Williams.
Q What kind of opportunities/projects are you looking for?
Networking. I'm open to consulting small businesses. Speaking engagements. Podcasts.
