WHAT DO YOU DO?
WHAT STEPS DID YOU TAKE TO GET TO WHERE YOU ARE NOW?
I started drawing since I was a child. One day I woke up and took a train to Milan, where I discovered graphic design and editorial illustration. Then I started to work in a communication agency. Today I'm always looking for new technologies and digital tools to represent my thoughts.
How do you stand out in your field?
Principally my objective is to give a second life to our daily routine ordinary objects, tools, places or situations. I like to find another view and give it a new meaning. Usually I start with a pencil on my sketchbook and then I transfer it on laptop, where I play with colors and animation.
WHAT ARE YOU WORKING ON RIGHT NOW?
I’m currently surrounded by several projects, a series of classic sneaker posters, an illustrated calendar for an NGO and one page for a poetry slang book.
WHAT'S YOUR STYLE/PERSPECTIVE/TASTE? DO YOU HAVE A PROJECT THAT REPRESENTS THIS?
My line is minimal and flat, I usually place geometric compositions in empty backgrounds to give imaginary location to the subject of the work.
WE ARE ALL SLASHIES WITH MULTIPLE SKILLS, WHICH ONE DO YOU WISH YOU COULD DO MORE OFTEN?
In these past years I enjoyed discovering several ways that helped me to develop my tone of voice. Stepping up from squat graffitis to polished web design projects, but my minimalist approach find its right balance in digital illustration.
WHAT IS FRUSTRATING YOU RIGHT NOW?
I get annoyed by squandering and unnecessary things, in general. I love the essential side on everything: food, furniture, friendship.
IF YOU COULD HIRE SOMEONE FOR $20/HR, WHAT WOULD YOU HAVE THEM DO TO MAKE YOUR DAY EASIER?
Public relations and file backup, I’d prefer to concentrate only on the enjoyable side of my work. But I don’t believe that I’ll ever assume someone only for this role…
LET'S BRING OUT THE TIME MACHINE. WHAT DO YOU WISH YOU COULD HAVE TOLD YOURSELF, WHEN, AND WHY?
At the beginning of my freelance career I spent some time working on projects where my creativity was limited and in the end I didn’t like the final result. So I didn’t add these work on my portfolio. I’d have liked to hear “Do not follow the budget, search more”
IF YOU COULD TALK TO AN EXPERT TO GAIN MORE INSIGHT ON SOMETHING, WHAT WOULD IT BE ABOUT?
I’m attracted to creative coding field and apply some mathematics formulas on my works, keeping the harmony of the compositions and managing shapes and colors in generative mode
WHAT KIND OF OPPORTUNITIES/PROJECTS ARE YOU LOOKING FOR?
I’m interested in exploring any illustration project that give me the chance to communicate reality in a smart, unique way: from small digital icons to big building wall.
DESCRIBE YOUR IDEAL JOB/CLIENT/COLLABORATION.
I can’t imagine an ideal client, sometimes from a little collaboration can grow into a wonderful story. I believe in human exchange bringing a positive experience to one another.
WHAT IS YOUR HOURLY RATE, RETAINER, OR SALARY RANGE?
Fortunately (or not!) the core of my work is the basic idea, so I can solve either in one hour or up to three weeks, it depends... I can’t fix an hourly rate, I consider each work for its use and the necessary research for the right approach.
HOW SHOULD SOMEONE APPROACH YOU ABOUT WORKING TOGETHER?
For the first step just send an email with a little description about the project, timeline and budget. I’ll answer in a couple of days to start the collaboration.
HOW DO YOU STAY CREATIVE?
I'm constantly looking for another point of view.
