WHAT DO YOU DO?

I started an underwear brand after moving country about 2 years ago. I started the project alone, with no investment. Now it’s my full time job and we produce all our products ourself and make collaborations with contemporary artists all over the world.

WHAT STEPS DID YOU TAKE TO GET TO WHERE YOU ARE NOW?

After moving to this country I realized my passion was in the studio, so I spent months working very hard producing everything myself. We have come a very long way since the beginning but Im still in the process of transforming Aniela Parys into what I want it to be.

FOR OTHER PEOPLE IN YOUR FIELD, WHAT DO THEY USUALLY LACK?

I think the thing that most fashion brands lack is a sense of connection to the production process. At the moment I am involved with every aspect of my business because I manage all sides of the project. We actually make each garment ourselves and this makes a huge appreciation for the work it takes to produce each garment. We also do art collaborations with artists from all over the world which brings a very interesting aspect and perspective to our project.

WHAT ARE YOU WORKING ON RIGHT NOW?

We are currently working clothing pieces. We plan on launching them at the end of summer

WHAT'S YOUR STYLE/PERSPECTIVE/TASTE? DO YOU HAVE A PROJECT THAT REPRESENTS THIS?

It's hard for me to put my aesthetic into a label. I just take from things in my life that inspire me and that I think are beautiful. Our designs are heavily influenced by nature and my life experiences... like being raised in Oregon, traveling the world from a young age and now living in Barcelona.

WE ARE ALL SLASHIES WITH MULTIPLE SKILLS, WHICH ONE DO YOU WISH YOU COULD DO MORE OFTEN?

I am currently learning photography, which I'm very excited about! I also want to learn how to produce different kind of products, like knits, bags, jewelry etc.

WHAT IS FRUSTRATING YOU RIGHT NOW?

I have found that branding the project has taken so much longer than expected and has been pretty difficult for me. I'm also always learning more about marketing. At heart, I am an artist and I find that selling myself and my project can be difficult for me. I work better with people in person. Social media has been my life saver and helped me communicate to our customers about the project so much!

IF YOU COULD HIRE SOMEONE FOR $20/HR, WHAT WOULD YOU HAVE THEM DO TO MAKE YOUR DAY EASIER?

Branding / Marketing / Production / Styling / Hair + Makeup

LET'S BRING OUT THE TIME MACHINE. WHAT DO YOU WISH YOU COULD HAVE TOLD YOURSELF, WHEN, AND WHY?

Take your time // Don't be too hard on yourself. I am a perfectionist and I find it hard to slow down, take breaks and balance work with my personal life.

IF YOU COULD TALK TO AN EXPERT TO GAIN MORE INSIGHT ON SOMETHING, WHAT WOULD IT BE ABOUT?

Branding / Marketing

WHAT KIND OF OPPORTUNITIES/PROJECTS ARE YOU LOOKING FOR?

I am always looking for collaboration with artists to gain inspiration and motivation for new projects. I am also interested in Set design / Hair & Makeup / Marketing / Production / Photography and Social Media

DESCRIBE YOUR IDEAL JOB/CLIENT/COLLABORATION.

Im very open to new ideas! I am currently working on some very exciting artist collaborations, but I am always looking for new ways to incorporate art and other interests into my project. Please just contact me and let's see what we can create together!

WHAT IS YOUR HOURLY RATE, RETAINER, OR SALARY RANGE?

I usually charge 20 euros an hour for hired projects but if the collaboration is for my brand I'm open to trade and exchanges.

HOW SHOULD SOMEONE APPROACH YOU ABOUT WORKING TOGETHER?

email me with your project idea! reaching out is the first step and then from there we can take more about the details

HOW DO YOU STAY CREATIVE?

new experiences, travel, adventure, nature
