Q What do you do?

I write blogs, web copy, email campaigns, scripts, and screenplays.

Q What steps did you take to get to where you are now?

I started in the mailroom at WME in 2010, taking classes at UCB and UCLA extension. Then I worked for a network and a producer before I sold my first show. All the while, I've taken on various freelance writing projects, like writing listicles, editing e-comm sites, and copywriting for corporate communications.

Q How do you stand out in your field?

I wrote on Pam & Tommy, which was nominated for Emmys and WGA awards, and I wrote a screenplay that landed on the 2022 Black List. I'm excellent at pitching ideas and developing narratives.

Q What are you working on right now?

Right now, i'm developing a book adaptation for Mandalay Pictures and writing an original Screenplay, while looking for work in advertising.

Q What’s your style?

I would like to work on big picture brand strategy, and learn everything about branding and advertising. I'm continually blown away by the succinct storytelling in ads and would like to hone that skill.

Q Out of all your slashies, which one do you wish you could do more often?

I want to learn how to match brand voice in writing. Most of the work I've done has been screenwriting, and most of that has been original work in my own voice. I want to stretch into writing for other voices and purposes.

Q What is frustrating you right now?

The entertainment business has stalled out, so paid work has taken priority over personal creative projects.

Q If you could hire someone for $20/hour, what would you have them do to make your day easier?

I would hire a housekeeper / chef. I love cooking but I hate cleaning and the relief of not having to think about either thing would be an enormous weight lifted off.

Q What do you wish you could have told yourself, when, and why?

I wish I'd had more faith in myself and my abilities when I was younger. Or, more specifically, I wish I had been more comfortable with a learning curve and being bad at things to start. I remember in high school, the faculty advisor of the school paper wanted me to write and I remember thinking, "i'm unqualified." What seventeen year old is more or less qualified to write for the school paper? My perfectionism is my greatest weakness, not just in a stupid job interview way, but an unwillingness to fail has kept me from succeeding.

Q If you could talk to an expert to gain more insight on something, what would it be about?

I would love to learn more about brand strategy and everything that follows for a campaign.

Q What kind of opportunities/projects are you looking for?

I'm looking for any/all kind of writing opportunities in advertising and tech. I'm interested in branding, strategy, e-commerce, social media, and any kind of content creation.

Q Describe your ideal job/client/collaboration.

The best working experience is one where a common language is spoken, with a shared goal, mission, and strategy. A feeling of being on the same page creatively with someone else is uniquely thrilling.

Q: What is your rate?

$800-1500 / day, or $75-$100k / year.

Q How should someone approach you about working together?
