What makes you stand out in your field?

Being god’s silliest goose has helped me a lot in this industry. I put a lot of my humor into most of my work nowadays and I take a lot of pride in how transformative it can be. Taking what most would consider a boring interview or marketing video and turning into an engaging piece of content is so rewarding. I love looking for those minor moments that don’t seem like much on their own, creating a motion element to really highlight it and combining it all into to make something hilarious.

What inspired you to get into motion design?

I was a little skate punk as a kid and making my own skate videos was always something I loved doing. I would put a lot of focus into the graphics and editing to make up for my lack of actual skate talent. Slowly but surely I began to fall in love with motion design and focused all my free time in learning as much as I could.

What are some design challenges you’ve faced and how did you address them with motion design?

I'm a big fan of dirty textures, low frame rates and overall a really rough aesthetic. I think when I first started I really dialed it back and didn't put enough of myself into client work. As I've gotten older I've become a lot more comfortable imprinting myself into the work I create for others.
