Claritsa Zambrano
Q What do you do?
I offer brand design and illustrations
Q What steps did you take to get to where you are now?
I graduated from college with an associate's degree in fine art, where I learned about Art History, Basic Design, Color Theory, Typography, Adobe Creative Suite.
In between graduation till now, I have been freelancing in designing wedding invitations and logos.
Q How do you stand out in your field?
Growing up my dad was a professional chef so I was always around restaurants. He eventually started his own catering business and I had the opportunity to help with food photography. I became very passionate about the brand look and soon started to design thereafter.
I have been on both sides of a business so I understand how valuable and important it is to have an identity that reflects the hard work that is going on behind the scenes.
Q What are you working on right now?
I am currently working on a brand Identity concept called Sideye, which is a tattoo shop.
Q What’s your style?
I like the classic san-serif type with fun elements. I try not to attach myself to an exact style because design is ever-evolving, it's important to have an understanding of the design basics that will always stand the test of time. I believe that having a brand that can hold up to design standards while still creating new and fun ideas will always succeed.
Farm Fresh is one of my projects that show sophisticated photography with a fun logotype.
Q Out of all your slashies, which one do you wish you could do more often?
I would love to do more painting and printmaking in my free time.
Q What is frustrating you right now?
Inching a path into the Design industry can be very vast.
Q If you could hire someone for $20/hour, what would you have them do to make your day easier?
Make me food, give me snacks, and refill my water while I work all day.
Jokes aside, I would like to have someone that I can collaborate with to bounce off ideas.
Q What do you wish you could have told yourself, when, and why?
I would have told myself that I am fully capable of creating all the ideas that I have in my head.
Q If you could talk to an expert to gain more insight on something, what would it be about?
I would like to know about their workflow.
Q What kind of opportunities/projects are you looking for?
I am looking for brand identities to work on.

I would love to work with a client that is passionate about their business.
