Q What do you do?

I fuse creative content with SEO expertise, crafting purposeful content marketing strategies that inspire and convert.

Q What steps did you take to get to where you are now?

I was born and raised in Southern California where I eventually pursued a degree in Marketing with a minor in International Studies. During my 3rd year of college, I studied abroad in Barcelona, Spain, where I began writing and documenting all of my adventures. This experience is what ignited my love for storytelling and writing.
When I moved back to California to finish my degree, I worked for a top digital marketing agency in San Diego where I learned everything there's to know about SEO content creation and strategy. From that moment on, it was a seamless transition into my copywriting and content marketing career.
After graduation, I moved back to Barcelona, where I began my journey as a freelance copywriter and content marketing strategist. Today, I partner with organizations from around the world, helping them implement data-driven content strategies. And the goal? To form deep-rooted, genuine connections with their audience that will help them build relationships and eventually turn prospects into paying customers.

Q How do you stand out in your field?

After working for a wide variety of industries, I know how to pivot my strategies to best resonate with a client’s target audience. Although I started my career as a copywriter, I love bridging the gap between content and SEO to create copy that not only reflects a company’s brand voice but also has the strategic insight to help them organically rank on Google.
I also understand the long term game of a business. It’s not enough to just create copy and then call it a day. You should always be thinking how each content piece can be leveraged and used across all channels to gain the most momentum. I take a calculated approach when laying out holistic content marketing strategies so I can truly make an impact with my writing.
While it’s essential to articulate a company’s story and instill trust within their audience, it's a whole other thing to be able to nurture leads and drive prospects down the marketing funnel with that same content produced. For me, mixing creativity with strategy takes the cake when it comes to crafting a killer content marketing game plan for my clients.

Q What are you working on right now?

Right now I’m freelancing for a marketing agency and am the strategist for a number of different brands ranging from beauty, skincare, and health and wellness. With these clients, I help develop their monthly content marketing strategy, revamp website copy, optimize their site for on-page SEO, and create compelling content resources.
When I'm not working in the agency world, I'm mixing things up with small business owners and startups, helping them navigate the world of content marketing. This is where I truly feel I can make a difference, and honestly, this is where I thrive. Whether I'm crafting thought-provoking pieces or coming up with solid strategies that become my clients' roadmap, I love embracing new challenges and bridging gaps in their teams.
What gets me really jazzed about freelancing is the chance to shake things up for these companies and build connections with the brains behind the scenes. Typical projects I’m working on include conducting SEO research, creating email sequences, optimizing website copy, and writing a number of different content resources.

Q What’s your style?

My writing style is one part relatable, one part direct, and with a dash of wit. I’m not one to over complicate things. However, that doesn’t mean my writing lacks personality. I still make sure to weave in some zest any chance I get.
My content is conversational, digestible, and easy on the eyes. I like turning complex subjects into simple explanations, making my content sound as if I was just explaining something to a friend sitting next to me.

Q Out of all your slashies, which one do you wish you could do more often?

oooo, easy! Anything travel, fitness, or wellness related - those are the things I'm truly passionate about.

Q What is frustrating you right now?

Trying to tackle the beast Google Analytics 4. Can't we just keep Universal Aanalytics forever? 🙃

Q If you could hire someone for $20/hour, what would you have them do to make your day easier?

Take care of my house plants and keep them in pristine condition. I have about 15 of them and their watering schedules can feel like a full time job!

Q What do you wish you could have told yourself, when, and why?

To my 20 year-old self: never settle, period. In your work or personal life, It doesn’t matter. Set your goals high, know your values, and when something doesn’t feel right, walk away and shift towards the things that are going to make you better.

Q If you could talk to an expert to gain more insight on something, what would it be about?

per my frustrations above, GA4. lol

Q What kind of opportunities/projects are you looking for?

I would love to find a client that I could support in the long run. I love to help set the foundation of a company's content marketing strategy and build up their processes step by step, and piece by piece. Projects I would like to work on include:

Monthly content calendars
Short-form engagement articles
SEO-focused long-form articles
Downloadable content resources like eBooks, infographics, white papers, etc.
Email sequences
On-page SEO keyword research
On-page website and landing page copy

Q Describe your ideal job/client/collaboration.

I would love to work with clients who are looking for someone to manage their content marketing strategy. Ideally it would be for a product or service that really resonates with my interests and values.

Q What is your rate?

I typically charge $100/hour but am flexible! What's more important to me is that I enjoy what I'm doing and I have a good relationship with the team.

Q How should someone approach you about working together?

Reach out through email and give me a little background on your company and what you're looking for. From there, we can schedule a catchup to get to know each other better! daniellemthomason@gmail.com

Daniel Murray from Marketing Millennials. He really knows how to create content that resonates with his audience while keeping it fun and engaging.

Q Oh! and… how do you stay creative?

Travel, writing, cooking, and spending time outdoors
