Danielle Buerli
Q What do you do?
I help them to look their best on and offline with holistic branding, and beautiful innovative marketing that comes from intention and curiosity. But, I always set aside some time to draw and create for myself.
Q What steps did you take to get to where you are now?
I was fortunate enough study illustration at Otis in Los Angeles and then continue studying for a master in design in Luzern, Switzerland. Since then I have worked on multiple sides of the creative industry from designing at ad agencies to art directing in-house at a brand. I learned so much and discovered I am most passionate about working directly with small brands that are excited about what they do.
Q How do you stand out in your field?
I work in a lot of different creative mediums and in different business contexts. I love to experiment, learn and problem solve. I think being curious helps me stay open to create something intentional and unique.
Q What are you working on right now?
Besides working with the clients I currently have and love, I have been working on fine tuning my own brand and business to be ready for whatever comes next.
Q What’s your style?
I like to combine a human touch with something clean and modern. I also really love combining unexpected things together, colors, textures, Illustration....
Q Out of all your slashies, which one do you wish you could do more often?
I want to focus more on branding at the moment. I love building a brand direction rooted in an idea that can grow beyond just one design.
Q What is frustrating you right now?
Finding the balance of doing work, finding work and all the other things to make that happen. Marketing myself and social media always seems to land on the bottom of my to do list because it feels never-ending.
Q If you could hire someone for $20/hour, what would you have them do to make your day easier?
I would hire someone to connect me to new people and projects. Some admin and social media help would also be super nice.
Q What do you wish you could have told yourself, when, and why?
I would have told my younger self that you will be constantly finding, loosing and reinventing yourself so it is ok to feel lost.
Q If you could talk to an expert to gain more insight on something, what would it be about?
Always curious about other business owners systems and processes.
Q What kind of opportunities/projects are you looking for?
I am looking to work with brands that are trying trying something new or excited to grow and need creative direction and support.
Q Describe your ideal job/client/collaboration.
I have gotten to work with some really amazing teams and open collaboration, humor and trust is something they all had in common. If we can talk, laugh and make something new, weird, beautiful - I'd say that is pretty ideal.
Q What is your rate?
My rate varies on the scope of a project. I like work within monthly retainers and hourly rates for longer support. Send me an email for an estimate or look on my website for my current design packages.
Q How should someone approach you about working together?
Send me an email at: Danielle@dbuerli.com Tell me a little bit of what have in mind, and if you have a timeline or budget.
Q Who is a creative you admire?
JAW Cooper - She is so kind, talented and dedicated to her craft.
Q Oh! and… how do you stay creative?
Go outside, see something new, draw
