WHAT DO YOU DO?
“I’m an analog photographer, and creative director.”
I cast models and style them when executing concepts. I work well with creative teams, but pride myself on managing multiple jobs on set when a team isn’t available.
WHAT STEPS DID YOU TAKE TO GET TO WHERE YOU ARE NOW?
I took a simple Digital photography course at a community college and from there I picked up a film camera and haven't stopped shooting since.
HOW DO YOU STAND OUT IN YOUR FIELD?
I work to create environments and moods in my work that stand out from the norm. I work hard to represent a mood and emotion in my photographs.
WHAT ARE YOU WORKING ON RIGHT NOW?
I am looking to connect with other creatives and agencies to turn my art into a career.
WHAT'S YOUR STYLE/PERSPECTIVE/TASTE? DO YOU HAVE A PROJECT THAT REPRESENTS THIS?
My style ranges from editorial, abstract, cinematic, portraiture, black and white. It all depends on my models and the mood i'm trying to present. I love having a versatile style.
WE ALL HAVE MULTIPLE SKILLS OR WORK IN VARIOUS INDUSTRIES, WHICH ONE DO YOU WISH YOU COULD FOCUS ON MORE?
I would love to take my photography into the fashion/music industry. I love design, clothes and avant-garde looks. My dream would be to shoot editorial for fashion magazines as well as work with musicians i admire and shoot images for them as well.
WHAT IS FRUSTRATING YOU RIGHT NOW?
My biggest frustration is not being able to get enough paid work, or get signed to a creative agency.
IF YOU COULD HIRE SOMEONE FOR $20/HR, WHAT WOULD YOU HAVE THEM DO TO MAKE YOUR DAY EASIER?
I would have them pick up film for me and scan the film after each shoot.
LET'S BRING OUT THE TIME MACHINE. WHAT DO YOU WISH YOU COULD HAVE TOLD YOURSELF, WHEN, AND WHY?
I would tell myself not to worry and that one day soon i will find my life's passion.
IF YOU COULD TALK TO AN EXPERT TO GAIN MORE INSIGHT ON SOMETHING, WHAT WOULD IT BE ABOUT?
I would pick someones brain that is a well paid, connected fashion photographer. I would love to know how they got to where they are today.
WHAT KIND OF OPPORTUNITIES/PROJECTS ARE YOU LOOKING FOR?
I would love to be published in a printed fashion magazine, be signed to a creative agency and move to LA and work in fashion.
DESCRIBE YOUR IDEAL JOB/CLIENT/COLLABORATION.
I would ideally love to shoot supermodel Aweng Chuol for PAPER magazine.
WHAT IS YOUR HOURLY RATE, RETAINER, OR SALARY RANGE?
My hourly rate is $150 + film cost!
