Q What do you do?
My designs help inspire inclusion and fun.
Q What steps did you take to get to where you are now?
I have over 11 years of leadership experience, and over 3 years of project management making me organized, solution-oriented, unafraid to address uncomfortable conversations and take the lead in all work I do. Top top it off I am an experienced artist, I have been drawing, painting and creating since I could hold a crayon. I have formal training in anatomy, perspective, cartoon artistry, color theory, and more.
Q How do you stand out in your field?
My art style is corky and unique in that I use diverse cartoon images of people and animals to evoke a sense of fun and silliness. Most of my work is fantasy and sci-fi based, and deals in wonderment and imagination.
Q What are you working on right now?
Right now I am working on an art series called Momager. Its poking fun at the toxic relationships of parents as managers in child-star careers. I had a conversation with a friend recently that works as a production assistant in the film industry, specifically with kids and she has told me some horror stories about how the children are treated. This conversation inspired this series.
Q What’s your style?
I have a few pieces that I really think capture my aesthetic and best work. Linked here: Pride and Sushi Mermaid and Ominous Genie
Q Out of all your slashies, which one do you wish you could do more often?
Brand Partnerships for limited edition product lines (ie clothes, shoes, cereal box designs).
Q What is frustrating you right now?
Struggling to find clients. I am working with professional coaches, posting regularly on social media, networking, and doing all the right things and getting no leads. I know it can be a slow burn at the start, but it can be disheartening to invest so much time, energy, and money into something for it to produce so little.
Q If you could hire someone for $20/hour, what would you have them do to make your day easier?
All my social media and marketing work (outreach, seo, email campaigns, etc.).
Q What do you wish you could have told yourself, when, and why?
You can get paid well for doing what you love, do not worry about the money, just believe in yourself and go for it!
Q If you could talk to an expert to gain more insight on something, what would it be about?
Getting clients
Q What kind of opportunities/projects are you looking for?
Limited edition product design, character design work, visual artistry work
Q Describe your ideal job/client/collaboration.
I created some custom merchandise for a client's niece for Christmas and I loved the idea that this little kid would open a present made just for them, with their preferences in mind, that no one else had. I wish I could have seen their face. The client communicated clearly, paid up front and on time. I am so incredibly grateful for that experience, I hope to make more people smile with my work.
Q What is your rate?
$5,000-$10,000 per limited edition product design, this depends on the length and scope of the project.
Q How should someone approach you about working together?
