WHAT DO YOU DO?
Curiosity and play are my fuel. Love to explore different materials and techniques, no strings attached.
WHAT STEPS DID YOU TAKE TO GET TO WHERE YOU ARE NOW?
I started as a graphic designer at advertising agencies and for many years did ceramics and photography as a hobby. After having my first child I realized I needed to do art. Seriously, as a life path. I had to break through a really strong belief that artists are gifted, special people. I had a lot of work silencing the judge inside my head and welcome the child to play. It took me a while to gain confidence and trust.
Art is everywhere inside you and around you. It's your life, your interests, your dilemmas, what moves you. Its so personal that it scares you. But once you understand it’s message and the power it has to transform, to give hope , to create new bridges you cannot stop it.
How do you stand out in your field?
I have an intense curiosity and a drive to connect things, to get out of my comfort zone. I’m not afraid to receive or give critiques and I’m always searching to grow and stretch my limits. These traits make my artwork evolve and grow in many interesting directions. I have a keen eye to curate and categorize artwork for portfolios, projects, and websites. My designer skills and artist sensitivity are a perfect match so I can serve artists to think critically on how to display their work.
WHAT ARE YOU WORKING ON RIGHT NOW?
I have been doing collage and paintings for a while using family pictures as a reference. These works are about investigating the psychological landscape that exists in our minds and its relation to our immediate reality.
WHAT'S YOUR STYLE/PERSPECTIVE/TASTE? DO YOU HAVE A PROJECT THAT REPRESENTS THIS?
History, science, spirituality, and psychology fascinate me. These subjects are the main concepts in my research. That is where I navigate. They give me the tools to understand life, and art is exactly this: life. I use a lot of old references to discuss concepts that relate to the present moment. This intertwining of ideas is where I observe how we evolve as human beings and strive for balance, power and love.
WE ARE ALL SLASHIES WITH MULTIPLE SKILLS, WHICH ONE DO YOU WISH YOU COULD DO MORE OFTEN?
Definitely, I wish I could focus more on my art. But I love studying and I’m preparing myself to start a Master of Fine Arts at NYU Abu Dhabi.
WHAT IS FRUSTRATING YOU RIGHT NOW?
It’s frustrating how artists can get into a limbo. We are not beginners anymore, but we are also not “there” yet and we stay stuck creating work that no one really sees or buys.
IF YOU COULD HIRE SOMEONE FOR $20/HR, WHAT WOULD YOU HAVE THEM DO TO MAKE YOUR DAY EASIER?
I would hire someone to do my social media. I have no patience and interest to lose so much time thinking and researching what to post, who to follow etc.
LET'S BRING OUT THE TIME MACHINE. WHAT DO YOU WISH YOU COULD HAVE TOLD YOURSELF, WHEN, AND WHY?
I wish I had authorized myself 15 years ago, to do silly stuff, to fail, to use all the art material I could buy, without feeling guilty about wasting money.
IF YOU COULD TALK TO AN EXPERT TO GAIN MORE INSIGHT ON SOMETHING, WHAT WOULD IT BE ABOUT?
I would talk to a great artist, someone who could tell me how he evolved, what were the steps he took from being the “young artist” in a small studio, with no money, no gallery representation to “a great artist” with all of the above!
WHAT KIND OF OPPORTUNITIES/PROJECTS ARE YOU LOOKING FOR?
In art, I’m looking for art residencies and being represented by an art gallery.
In web design, I want to collaborate with creative people and help the artistic community to have a better presence online. I find so many good artists that have terrible websites and photos.
DESCRIBE YOUR IDEAL JOB/CLIENT/COLLABORATION.
Would love to be part of art residencies around the world, to have new experiences, meet new people and give a new direction to my work. Also, be represented by a gallery with an open-minded and proactive approach to shows and artist promotion.
In web design, my ideal client is a fun, curious artist/ illustrator/ photographer that needs my skills to help curate and create a clean and beautiful website.
Who is a creative that has helped you elevate your work?

HOW DO YOU STAY CREATIVE?
Take a nap with paper and pencil. Read philosophy. Meditate. Talk to artists. See art. Make art. Make mistakes. Paint it over. Erase it. Repeat it.
