WHAT DO YOU DO?
“Ciao, my name is Francesca.
I am a video editor/motion graphics artist/social media designer with 15 years of experience and an excellent eye for make up/beauty/fashion (I can’t help it, I am italian AF).”
I have been working with clients as Colourpop, Milani Cosmetics, Vogue, Kay Jewelry, Tilly's, Silver Jeans, Kopari Beauty, Volaire, Sebastian Hair, Honest Beauty, Specific Beauty... among others.
I am also specialized in kinetic typography and animation in After Effects.
WHAT STEPS DID YOU TAKE TO GET TO WHERE YOU ARE NOW?
I moved to Los Angeles 10 years ago (from a small village in Italy), I attended Gnomo (School of Visual FX, Hollywood) to improve my skills in After Effects. I worked very very hard for 4 months on a personal project that changed my life: it was a "video resume" animated with kinetic typography to tell the crazy story of my life (I survived a tornado... in Italy!) in a very ironic, funny and entertaining way.
I put it on the internet and I started to get a lot of job offers.

I am permalancing for Colourpop: I am in charge of all the videos (editing/GFX/text animations)

Since I'd like to focus in the beauty/make up industry I think attention to detail is crucial. I've been told that I have an excellent eye and a particular sensibility for beauty.

Cleaning my house: I can't work and concentrate in a messy environment

Unfortunately, being a woman doing a "manly" job I often had to work harder to demonstrate my skills.
Also, being a freelance is sometimes very scary since you never know when you are going to get the next paycheck.

I have been "permalancing" for Colourpop for the past 2 years and I have never met my employers: working remotely is working out amazingly and it's a win-win for both sides.
WHAT IS YOUR HOURLY RATE, RETAINER, OR SALARY RANGE?
My daily rate is $600 but it could be negotiable if it's an ongoing project
WHO IS A CREATIVE THAT HAS HELPED YOU ELEVATE YOUR WORK?
Alessandro Pepe is the man that told me that I was going to be the only pretty blonde girl that can write expressions in After Effects. He's still my mentor and source of inspiration.
HOW SHOULD SOMEONE APPROACH YOU ABOUT WORKING TOGETHER?
Budget, for sure. I don't work for cheap!
