WHAT DO YOU DO?
I’m a lawyer and a co-founder of a legal startup called Lawgood. Our mission is to make legal services more approachable for freelancers & entrepreneurs so they can protect their hustle.
A lawyer can help and bring value before, during, and after any project or deal. Access to lawyers shouldn’t be limited to just big companies and wealthy individuals. We’re working to change that by making it more affordable and accessible for freelancer & entrepreneurs to get help from lawyers with their work.
WHAT STEPS DID YOU TAKE TO GET TO WHERE YOU ARE NOW?
I went to law school in NYC. I worked at law firms for a few years and taught at a a law school. Then, I came back to LA to launch Lawgood.
Why Lawgood? I’ve always been that “lawyer friend” that friends and family would call for help. Many of them are freelancers & entrepreneurs and so I’m aware (and in awe of) how much sweat, tears, and love it takes to create and make something. I also know how important it is to protect that work and how difficult it is to get affordable legal help to do it. I really want to change that.

Approachability. Taking risks. Being a person first, a lawyer second.
WHAT ARE YOU WORKING ON RIGHT NOW?
We’re working on designing services to make it super easy for freelancers & entrepreneurs to get legal help with their contracts. From getting your legal questions answered to having your contracts summarized, we’re focused on coming up with solutions to real life problems. Check out the website to learn more!
WHAT'S YOUR STYLE/PERSPECTIVE/TASTE? DO YOU HAVE A PROJECT THAT REPRESENTS THIS?
I like things clean, simple, and succinct. It’s rare to find this combo in the legal world. Our Contract Snapshot service embodies this when summarizing a contract in plain English.
WE ARE ALL SLASHIES WITH MULTIPLE SKILLS, WHICH ONE DO YOU WISH YOU COULD DO MORE OFTEN?
If I had the time, I’d love to teach on the side. There’s something thrilling about imparting knowledge and seeing someone learn & grow from it.
WHAT IS FRUSTRATING YOU RIGHT NOW?
The legal industry is incredibly frustrating. There are so many barriers for people to get legal help and the industry doesn’t make it easy to overcome them.
IF YOU COULD HIRE SOMEONE FOR $20/HR, WHAT WOULD YOU HAVE THEM DO TO MAKE YOUR DAY EASIER?
Social media & marketing. It’s been a very steep learning curve and takes a lot of time!

At the start of college - take everything that happens as part of your journey. They will make who you are and that’s not a bad thing.
IF YOU COULD TALK TO AN EXPERT TO GAIN MORE INSIGHT ON SOMETHING, WHAT WOULD IT BE ABOUT?
A successful female entrepreneur. I want to hear all her war stories and her human stories to be inspired and encouraged in my own journey.

I’m always open to collaboration and partnerships.
