WHAT DO YOU DO?

With HomeCooked, I come to your house and I make a meal using what you already have in your fridge and pantry!

 I have been cooking this way at home and at friend's houses for many years, all over the country and world, and HomeCooked is the perfect way to express my passions for cooking, creativity, and community.
 

WHAT STEPS DID YOU TAKE TO GET TO WHERE YOU ARE NOW?

I've worked in the culinary word for over 10 years in many different positions, and I have been cooking since I was 10 years old.  I started to feel the pull to branch out on my own a few years ago, and HomeCooked was born officially in the beginning of 2018.  I left my full-time job to take a part-time day job while I work every day to build up HomeCooked and get myself out there!
 

How do you stand out in your field?

Definitely my personality.  I am very lucky to be someone that most people feel comfortable around and enjoy talking to, and I really pride myself on having cultivated that genuine friendly warmth and approachability over the course of my very full life and extensive world travels.  There's only one me and I plan on making sure people know that!
 

WHAT ARE YOU WORKING ON RIGHT NOW?

I am working on a HomeCooked Dinner Party Series!  Each guests would bring one raw ingredient from a particular category (protein, veggie, starch, etc) and I will prepare a meal live for the group while they mingle, drink, whatever.  I also am working on a HomeCooked for the Homeless series as well to shed light on the epic homelessness epidemic in LA and beyond.

My big project has me developing HomeCooked into a TV Series!  It's an intense journey with it's own challenges around every corner but I know I have the power to connect people all over the country over what we keep in the fridge.  Stay tuned...
 

WHAT'S YOUR STYLE/PERSPECTIVE/TASTE? DO YOU HAVE A PROJECT THAT REPRESENTS THIS? 

My mission is to take the anxiety and stress out of the kitchen and out of trying new things.  My style is very personal and eclectic, borrowing from vintage, to aprons, to edgy street style, and everywhere in between.  I tend to express myself visually through my clothing and accessory choices.  I love to play with fashion and do not adhere to any specific trends or rules.  I am fun, playful, and unique, and my fashion choices are a natural extension of that.
 

WE ARE ALL SLASHIES WITH MULTIPLE SKILLS, WHICH ONE DO YOU WISH YOU COULD DO MORE OFTEN?

My current goal is to focus on building my brand full-time.  I'd love to spend more consistent time hosting events on or off camera to keep those skills fresh.
 

WHAT IS FRUSTRATING YOU RIGHT NOW?

It's difficult to be building my brand while still having a part-time day job, and I sometimes feel spread way too thin with all of the various commitments I have everyday as an emerging entrepreneur.  Nevertheless, the most important thing is to keep moving forward every day to achieve my goals.
 

IF YOU COULD HIRE SOMEONE FOR $20/HR, WHAT WOULD YOU HAVE THEM DO TO MAKE YOUR DAY EASIER?

Clean my apartment and doing my laundry! I find that I am so busy making my life happen that I often let those menial tasks fall by the wayside until it can seem insurmountable.  Having help in that area of my life would allow me to maintain some mental clarity while I am hyper-focused on my career goals.

LET'S BRING OUT THE TIME MACHINE. WHAT DO YOU WISH YOU COULD HAVE TOLD YOURSELF, WHEN, AND WHY?

I have lived a very full life with a lot of diverse experiences, and I wouldn't change too much, as I strongly believe that the roller coaster I've been on has led me to the strong, empowered, unique woman I am today.  With that said, I would go back to certain times where I spent months feeling super depressed and pathetic due to a job failure and tell myself that I am NOT defined by my job!!  That is an important lesson that can be hard to learn in today's world where so many people want to define you by your work and not be who you are.
 

IF YOU COULD TALK TO AN EXPERT TO GAIN MORE INSIGHT ON SOMETHING, WHAT WOULD IT BE ABOUT?

I'd love to learn more about PR tactics and television development.  I am a novice at both and teaching myself the processes on my own.  Despite the fact that there are a lot of GREAT resources out there, I know that industry professionals would be able to give me lots of super useful tips and advice.

WHAT KIND OF OPPORTUNITIES/PROJECTS ARE YOU LOOKING FOR?

I'm focused on brand-building opportunities that raise awareness about HomeCooked and help to get my name out there.  My short term goal is developing and pitching the series.  Anything related to that journey is on my radar.
 

DESCRIBE YOUR IDEAL JOB/CLIENT/COLLABORATION.

Well, clients with a well-stocked fridge and pantry are always a dream!  In those situations, I can really let my creativity run wild.

As far as collabs go, I love working with people who are just as passionate as I am about what they are doing.  People who are comfortable with themselves and their skills are my kind of people!
 

WHAT IS YOUR HOURLY RATE, RETAINER, OR SALARY RANGE? 

My current rates for HomeCooked service are designed to be super affordable for a wide range of people.  Each session is between $55-65, with some optional add-ons.
 

HOW SHOULD SOMEONE APPROACH YOU ABOUT WORKING TOGETHER?

Be authentic about who you are!  I don't need anyone to hide behind lots of business jargon or acronyms.  I am an intelligent woman with years of experience who doesn't need to rely on stale lingo to sound credible and neither should you!  
 

HOW DO YOU STAY CREATIVE?

Always be myself / Who cares what they think of me / Self-expression rules!
