Q What steps did you take to get to where you are now?

Born and raised in Tokyo, Japan, I ventured to the US to immerse myself in diverse cultures, where creative minds thrive. My journey began at a Japanese agency in NYC, where I worked as a Brand Strategist, helping companies expand their market presence in the US. During this time, I honed my skills in market research, localization, positioning, and go-to-market strategies.
Driven by a desire for personal and professional growth, I transitioned to a California-based UX design agency. As a Senior Brand Strategist, I collaborate with diverse range of brands, guiding them in crafting their brand promises and delivering exceptional user experiences across various digital platforms, including apps, websites, and dashboards.
Now, as a Senior Strategist at an advertising agency, my focus is on fostering long-term partnerships with brands. I assist companies in developing comprehensive campaign plans and executing ads to drive tangible results.
My diverse professional experiences have sharpened my ability to develop innovative strategies that yield measurable business outcomes.

Q How do you stand out in your field?

(1) My Strategic Thinking: I absolutely love putting the puzzle pieces together! Whether it's business and brand info, research data, or insights, I enjoy crafting a compelling and cohesive brand strategy. It's like giving the brand a little therapy session to uncover its true essence.
(2) My Passion: I'm all about diving deep and going the extra mile. When I take on a project, you can count on me to research and learn everything I can about the subject or industry. I'm genuinely passionate about what I do, and it shows in my dedication and initiative.
(3) Effective Communication: I believe in keeping things clear, consistent, and proactive. I make sure everyone is on the same page by communicating openly and transparently. When it comes to getting things done, I'm all about efficiency and effectiveness.

Q What are you working on right now?

In my recent projects, I have had the opportunity to work with a diverse range of clients, spanning from B2B enterprises to small consumer goods. One of my ongoing endeavors involves running social campaigns for a global B2B brand, a project that has kept me engaged for over eight months. Simultaneously, I have been assisting smaller brands in discovering their unique voice and establishing a compelling brand mission.
In a recent collaboration, I had the privilege of working with a non-profit organization dedicated to empowering young women. Their mission was to provide an innovative educational program that integrates computer science, cognitive science, and creativity into a single curriculum. My role in this project was to partner with them in developing a new platform and website that effectively communicated their brand story and enhanced their credibility among potential investors and partners.

Q What’s your style?

Deeply rooted in purpose and mission. I believe every brand has a mission that can resonate with people on an emotional level. I make it my mission to discover and reflect those core values in the brand promises I develop. Whether it's a B2B enterprise or any other type of consumer brand, I truly believe in the power of connecting with people's emotions.
My approach is focused on finding your brand's authentic voice and identifying the emotions that can resonate with your target audience. By tapping into these emotional connections, we can create a powerful and impactful brand experience that leaves a lasting impression.
In terms of aesthetics? My style leans towards understated elegance with a touch of minimalism.

Q Out of all your slashies, which one do you wish you could do more often?

Brand strategy consulting for brands that are dedicated to social causes and making a positive impact for the society.

Q What is frustrating you right now?

What currently frustrates me the most is the need for self-promotion and exposure. Dealing with ongoing imposter syndrome can be challenging, but I've come to realize that it is what constantly drives me to do better.

Q If you could hire someone for $20/hour, what would you have them do to make your day easier?

I would have someone handle my social media management and reach out to potential clients. While I realize the importance of gaining exposure, I personally find the task of running social media and promoting myself online to be less enjoyable...!

Q What do you wish you could have told yourself, when, and why?

I would go back and tell my 18-year-old self that there is no need to prove myself to anyone and to simply be authentically me.

 

Q If you could talk to an expert to gain more insight on something, what would it be about?

Psychology and UX design.

Q What kind of opportunities/projects are you looking for?

I love working with small to mid-sized businesses, especially in the tech, education, health, and wellness sectors, where I have more experience.
