What do you do?

I’m a visual storyteller! I combine photography with a deep love for helping people craft and share their stories.

What steps did you take to get where you are now?

I've been a photographer for around 7 years and over the last few years I've began to work with branding and coaching. Over the last year I've been working with entrepreneurs and designers by combining these skills to create my new role as visual storyteller.

For other people in your field, what do they usually lack?

A think a clear voice is usually missed. Photography skills can be learned and developed. The thing that sets us apart is our unique voice. And by the way, mine is still developing as well!

What are you working on right now?

Honestly, rebranding all that I'm doing. I'm experiencing strong clarity on who I am as an artist and I'm aggressively working on repositioning all that I to reflect this.

We are all Slashies with multiple skills, which one do you wish you could do more often?

I'm slanted towards the photography side of things right now and really want to push more into the branding/value development/storytelling side of photography.

What is frustrating you right now?

I'm an American living in Copenhagen and the market here is quiet small. It's quite difficult to network with people in the US from so far away. I need better ways of networking with creatives in the US.

What task keeps landing at the bottom of the To Do list?

Emails and finance reports. Who wants to do that when I could be out shooting instead?

If you could hire someone for $20/hour, what would you have them do to make your day easier?

Social Media...no question!

Do you have any mentors or peers? What do you chat about? How do they help you?

I have a good friend in the US and we Skype weekly to talk about branding and story development. I can't get enough of this stuff right now!

If you could talk to an expert to gain more insight on something, what would it be about?

Definitely the branding process. I want to leverage the depth of understanding gained during the process to not only help the client but also to give me more story to photograph.

What kind of opportunities/projects are you looking for?

I love entrepreneurs and designers. I want to collaborate more and help others tell their story through photography.

What is your ideal client?

Someone who wants a photographer who does more than push a button. I want to capture emotion and a sense of story in the editorials I shoot.

Do you allow yourself to say No?

I say no quite a bit...mainly to myself. I'm an entrepreneur...I have countless ideas each day....which also means countless "no's".

What is your rate?

I prefer to discuss the project and then give a price. Of course a flat $1,000,000 would cover pretty much any project they may want to pitch!

How should someone approach you about working together?

Email me and then we'll meet for coffee or Skype. The relationship is key to even the most simple project.
