Kimberly Santana
Q What do you do?
I’ve always loved thinking about how people live and utilize their space and of course the beautiful things.
Q What steps did you take to get to where you are now?
I’ve learned so much from all the different roles I’ve taken and the people I’ve met along the way.
I was originally studying Environmental Studies but was craving a more creative career so my mother suggested that I major in Interior Design.
As I was finishing up my Bachelor’s Degree (BS in Interior Design), I took an internship with Gamble + Design and then worked with a staging firm in San Francisco. When I moved to LA, I decided to pursue my interest in photography, visual design, and branding. I found an internship under an editorial photographer and started exploring branding and marketing by working with creative agencies supporting their visual teams.
I worked as a freelancer for Interior Designers. But I enjoy working at a studio best.
Q How do you stand out in your field?
My background in multiple arts brings a special and unique creative perspective and a keen eye for aesthetics. I’m a hard worker and care a lot about the work that I do, whether it’s a small or large task.
Q What are you working on right now?
At this time, I’m manifesting the next best thing.
Q What’s your style?
My style is inspired by various eras, medias, and personal stories. I love eclectic, romantic, and minimalistic spaces. I’m drawn to nature-inspired design that exudes a sense of comfort and tranquility, how I would like to feel internally.
Q Out of all your slashies, which one do you wish you could do more often?
I enjoyed my role as a Creative Producer so I would like to work with a creative agency whose clients are brands I love and personally shop at where I can come up with a really fun campaign.
Q What is frustrating you right now?
AI. I understand that there is a lot of good that comes with this type of technology. I am still learning about it. But it does scare me to think about robots eventually taking over the world and the ethics part of all this.
Q If you could hire someone for $20/hour, what would you have them do to make your day easier?
I would hire a masseuse. :)
Q What do you wish you could have told yourself, when, and why?
Learn to say no.
Q If you could talk to an expert to gain more insight on something, what would it be about?
A life coach.
Q What kind of opportunities/projects are you looking for?
Interior Design.
Q Describe your ideal job/client/collaboration.
The ideal situation is to work with a team that is kind and professional. Trust and respect are essential.
Q How should someone approach you about working together?
Email me: hi.kimberlypaola@gmail.com
Q Oh! and… how do you stay creative?
