Kseniia Krasilich
Q What do you do?
I enjoy crafting websites that reflect my clients' unique personalities and styles, all while building a relationship that will last well beyond the launch of their site.
Q What steps did you take to get to where you are now?
I went to art school in my teen years and have been a design addict ever since. I am a perfectionist about typography, color, and pixel-matching. It was a hobby at first, but I enjoyed it way too much, so I decided to make a career out of it.
I was working for a marketing company in NYC when I realized that I wasn't happy with the design projects I was working on. That's when I started my business as a side-hustle! Soon after, I transitioned to a full-time freelance career.
Q How do you stand out in your field?
In my case, I opted for a minimalist design to showcase my work and personality. In addition, I write a blog on my site where I not only update on my latest projects, but also discuss things I am interested in from a design perspective.
Q What are you working on right now?
I am currently working with a few cosmetic brands that are very exciting. I'm also developing a collection of Squarespace templates that are to be launch in a few months. Besides that, I invest a lot of time into studying and improving my skillset. My goal is to provide not just a pretty website but to create good organic traffic flow in the process.
Q What’s your style?
I've always loved minimal design, but I also like a good use of color. I tend to think that these opposing things come together well within minimalism. Simple modern design with clean lines, uncluttered pages, and subtle details. I gravitate towards minimal websites, not because they are plain or boring, but because they are so sleek, refined, and aesthetic.
Q Out of all your slashies, which one do you wish you could do more often?
I would love to create more creative, cutting-edge designs that push the boundaries of web design. I also have a strong interest in data and analytics, which fits nicely into my other passion, SEO.
Q What is frustrating you right now?
I work a lot on growing my business that i find it difficult to step aside and just relax for a minute without thinking about another thing i should ad to my to do list.
Q If you could hire someone for $20/hour, what would you have them do to make your day easier?
I could probably use some help with email marketing.
Q What do you wish you could have told yourself, when, and why?
If I could give myself advice, I would first tell myself to slow things down and not overcomplicate things. Second, If you're feeling off, take a break and do something that makes you feel better.
Q If you could talk to an expert to gain more insight on something, what would it be about?
I would love to talk to an expert from my industry who has successfully scaled their business. For starters, they must be extremely efficient and effective in maximizing their time and efforts into creating a successful business. I would probably pick their brain for a few hours on that topic alone! I would also want to know how they're able to balance life and work, as well as how they stay motivated, involved, and inspired at all times.
Q What kind of opportunities/projects are you looking for?
I'm always looking to collaborate with others. I'd love more web design work and also was thinking to collaborate on Squarespace Templates with other experts.
Q Describe your ideal job/client/collaboration.
My ideal client has an overarching sense about what they want and where they're trying to go, loves the styles & aesthetics of my recent work, and likes things to be done efficiently.
Q: What is your rate?
I mainly tailor my prices to the project itself. You can take a look at my price outline here.
