WHAT DO YOU DO?
“I am a DJ for Nike London & a freelance designer. ”
Since moving to London 3 years ago I've been immersing myself in the music industry, first as a DJ and radio presenter for my show 'Diamonds In The Rough' and more recently as a beginner producer.
Mads Diamond Studio is a Custom Branding, Website Design, and Social Media Management agency born out of my enjoyment for marketing and branding. I work with brands to deliver fun and engaging designs.
WHAT STEPS DID YOU TAKE TO GET TO WHERE YOU ARE NOW?
I've never wanted to take a traditional route with anything in life, I taught myself to DJ 3 years ago & then to design. Finding clients has always come naturally and most people I go on to work with usually come from networking or mutual friends. I'm very hands on and believe you shouldn't be afraid of failure. You fail, you learn and you do better next time! In 2019 I left my corporate job to focus full time on music and design and love it despite the ups and downs and lack of stability.
How do you stand out in your field?
Music: I love to be involved with all aspects of music. You can find me making beats from scratch, playing the songs at parties, presenting radio shows and interviewing artists, remixing songs and always on the look out for the artists that are due to blow.
Design: I love colour, bright and modern designs. I really get to know the client, what they love and what their audience loves. I enjoy fun projects maybe with a bit of humour thrown in there. I understand everyones different and some people love minimalism, my personal branding is always a little bit extra though.
WHAT ARE YOU WORKING ON RIGHT NOW?
Music: I'm currently remixing a few songs, I released an Ariana Grande garage remix and am experimenting with making beats from scratch. I also have my radio show every 2 weeks. I'd love to collaborate with artists and other producers over Zoom.
Design: I'm working with fashion & beauty brands, influencers & artists and mental health charities to deliver relevant branding & graphics. I love being given a brief and then being allowed the freedom to come up with the creative concept.
WHAT'S YOUR STYLE/PERSPECTIVE/TASTE? DO YOU HAVE A PROJECT THAT REPRESENTS THIS?
Music: My music taste is a real blend of female empowerment pop and then the complete opposite with old school and current rap & hip hop. Bad ass boss vibes.
Design: My website is the kind of bold and bright style I love designing. As my surname is 'Diamond' I've always gravitated to adding a bit of shine, sparkle or diamante wherever I can.
WE ARE ALL SLASHIES WITH MULTIPLE SKILLS, WHICH ONE DO YOU WISH YOU COULD DO MORE OFTEN?
Music: I'd like to focus more on music production, learn piano, work with singers or maybe even try to learn to sing myself.. it's never too late is it? Probably for me lol.
Design: I love to work on personal branding, from logo, font, colours and vision boards. It's exciting bringing someones personality to life.
WHAT IS FRUSTRATING YOU RIGHT NOW?
Reaching new clients regularly.

Organise my files on my laptop!
LET'S BRING OUT THE TIME MACHINE. WHAT DO YOU WISH YOU COULD HAVE TOLD YOURSELF, WHEN, AND WHY?
You can do literally anything you want to do! I studied English because it was the only thing I was good at in school but I wish I'd experimented with more earlier. I thought I would never be able to do anything musical but I was so wrong!!

WHAT KIND OF OPPORTUNITIES/PROJECTS ARE YOU LOOKING FOR?
Music: I'm looking do more presenting, tv & radio. I'm also looking to collaborate on my remixes & productions. Always searching for new artists & their music. Once lockdown is over I'd love to be a tour DJ for an artist.
Design: I'm looking to design more Wix & Shopify sites. Work with mental health charities. Build up overall branding for artists and influencers.
DESCRIBE YOUR IDEAL JOB/CLIENT/COLLABORATION.
I'm working with a great PR agency at the moment and I like that they have their own multiple projects and I get to freelance for them. They usually have a really good idea about who their client is already and then they trust me to bring the brand to life visually.
At the moment I've been obsessed with the rapper Saweetie, she loves her US West Coast style & has that boss attitude. Her vlogs on Youtube have been entertaining me throughout lockdown and her video editor is on point with capturing her humour. I'd love to work with Saweetie on both music and design.
There's a few producers in the UK that I hope to work with or be mentored by one day too.
Who is a creative that has helped you elevate your work?
Ok I feel like a teenager here but Tik Tok. I've learnt sooo much on Tik Tok and maybe thats because of my short attention span but they get their point across so quickly and that's how I like to learn sometimes. You can follow my Tik Tok and look through the people I follow because there's so many!
