Q What do you do?

I bridge the gap between branding & user interface.

I’m an independent designer from Poland, who lives in Stockholm, Sweden (for now). I specialize in digital and product design, with a focus on brand, interaction, visual design and design systems.

In my free time, I record videos on my YouTube channel
taking street photos and talking to dogs that aren't mine.

Q What steps did you take to get to where you are now?

It’s been a ride, for many years I had no clue what I wanted to do. I started with photography and that’s how I discovered how to use Photoshop. I liked it, so I kept going. I never thought that I will be a designer. I thought that to do that I need to know how to draw and be very good at painting (lol). But fortunately, I met some awesome people on my way, who showed me what design can be.
Since then, I’ve spent many, many hours in front of my computer, trying to learn new things. After a while, when I got better, I started to work as a web designer and art director, and then transition into digital designer, UI / UX and now I focus mostly on product design. It feels like I will never stop learning and exploring. It’s the best part of being a designer.

Q How do you stand out in your field?

By combining my experience with different types of design, I believe my designs are well crafted. I focus not only on interactions but also on visual experience. I like to make sure that my designs are simple but fun. I believe that digital products can be functional and exciting at the same time. Because I am a self-trained designer, I feel like I don’t have those constraints that some people might have.

I like to work closely with developers, designers, product managers and help them to build design processes and work more efficiently. I make sure that people that I work with are engaged in the design process, feel like they have an impact on the product and understand user needs.

Q What are you working on right now?

I help companies with their products and work on my new own app in my free time (can't say more for now, sorry!)

I am trying to record videos for my YouTube channel in my free time.

Q What’s your style?

For now, it’s typography-heavy, bold and simple at the same time. But my style evolves and adjusts. I just like to make things that stand out and are memorable.

Q Out of all your slashies, which one do you wish you could do more often?

I wish to work more with products that are less mature, where I can be more creative, experiment more and have more say in a design direction.

Q What is frustrating you right now?

Too many meetings that could be an email?
People, who think that closing their employees in one space is the only way to make sure that people actually work.
Repetitive dribbble style designs.

Q If you could hire someone for $20/hour, what would you have them do to make your day easier?

Someone who could make sure that I report my expenses and all of that admin stuff, ughhhh.

Q What do you wish you could have told yourself, when, and why?

Oh damn, you will be better, it takes some time. Don’t be so hard on yourself.
Because I tend to push myself too much, instead of trusting the process.
DON’T study economics, study something that you enjoy.
Learn more languages.

Q If you could talk to an expert to gain more insight on something, what would it be about?

How to build and grow my own design studio without losing all my money?

Q What kind of opportunities/projects are you looking for?

At least 3-6 months projects with clients that are willing to take creative risks.

Q Describe your ideal job/client/collaboration.

My ideal clients are those who are excited about their product and are willing to trust me. Projects that stand out design and idea-wise.

Q: What is your rate?

Typically it’s 115 USD / hour (net) if you want me to work “full time” (160h / month) for a couple of months. If you need me for a shorter time, then we have to discuss deliverables and then I will charge you per project, not by the hour.

But if you have a lower budget don’t hesitate to contact me. Maybe we will find a way to work together anyway. I am always open to new cool opportunities!

Q How should someone approach you about working together?

Send me an email or DM on LinkedIn and let me know what you need. We will take it from there :)

Q Who is a creative you admire?

There are soooooo many. Do we have a couple of hours? ;)

Bianka Szlachta - Bianka is a Polish tattoo artist. With super unique style.
Hrvoje is a Croatian designer, founder & creative director of holographik studio. I love how he works with color and typography. His projects are very inspiring.
Kel Lauren is a Graphic Designer & t-shirt enthusiast ;) They have a successful (not like mine) Youtube channel, where you can watch them designing and having fun. I enjoy it a lot, you might too.

Q Oh! and… how do you stay creative?

I spend many hours on are.na and go to nice, pretty places.
