Meagan Albrechtson
Q What do you do?
I am well-versed in creating a variety of content, from product taglines to long-form articles to web and e-commerce copy.
Q What steps did you take to get to where you are now?
I started out as a journalist, writing articles for magazines and newspapers, which eventually led me to launch my own online publication. I soon realized that I could apply my intrinsic storytelling ability to help brands.
Q How do you stand out in your field?
Because I've written for a diverse set of industries, from real estate to interior design to fashion and B2C companies, I'm able to tackle any project and can adapt my tone of voice and writing style easily.
Q What are you working on right now?
I'm currently working on a couple freelance copywriting projects, with the hopes of expanding my portfolio.
Q What’s your style?
The best representation of my style would be the long-form articles I've written, which can be found at: meaganalbrechtson.com/editorial
Q Out of all your slashies, which one do you wish you could do more often?
I would love to spend more time working on short, whip-smart taglines for brands as I find it can be more challenging the less words you have to work with.
Q What is frustrating you right now?
There are courses I would love to take to perfect my copywriting skillset (i.e. SEO writing), but they always get put off.
Q If you could hire someone for $20/hour, what would you have them do to make your day easier?
Write cover letters! Does anyone actually enjoy this process?
Q What do you wish you could have told yourself, when, and why?
Spend less time worrying that you're not qualified/experienced enough and just apply for the dang thing!
Q If you could talk to an expert to gain more insight on something, what would it be about?
I would love to talk to a copywriter who worked in advertising agencies and really break down what the process/experience is like.
Q What kind of opportunities/projects are you looking for?
I'm looking to collaborate with companies who need help with copywriting, content and/or brand strategy.
Q Describe your ideal job/client/collaboration.
The co-founder of a company called Goodland reached out for help in describing what inspired him to launch his line of wood-fired hot tubs. After being briefed on his core values and why he started his company, I was able to effectively put into words what he was so excited to share with the world. It was a very satisfying and rewarding experience.
Q What is your rate?
My day rate for copywriting is $300, which includes the first set of revisions and edits (if needed). I am open to discussing budgets with clients, depending on the scope of work required.
Q How should someone approach you about working together?
I can best be reached at: malbrechtson@gmail.com. The intro should include what services are needed, a short brief of the project and scope of work.
Q Who is a creative you admire?
Natalie Littlewood, whom I admire and was a great help in mentoring me when I was seeking work in London:
Q Oh! and… how do you stay creative?
Read magazines and let my Spotify algorithm soothe me.
