Q What do you do?

I am a multidisciplinary artist, specializing in photography, illustration, graphic design, and traditional art mediums.

My style ranges from black and white fine line detailing, to psychedelic color abstraction. I value interpersonal connections with other artists, and am inspired to promote self respect, experimenting, growth and imagination within my work.

Q What steps did you take to get to where you are now?

The steps I take is to never believe I am done learning, I believe there is always something new to learn that will only push me forward and to experiment and grow. Another important step into growing is allowing there to be room for change and being able to evolve yourself and your work even when you think something may be complete.

Q How do you stand out in your field?

I believe I stand out because I am curious, I am resilient and although I may not be very loud I express myself with less words and more visuals.

Q What are you working on right now?

I am working on my last semester of Grad school about to graduate with a Masters in Graphic Design. Outside of that I am working on creating a series of portrait photographs touching on interpersonal relationships and self reflection.

Q What’s your style?

I don't define myself with a specific style but with everything I make and want to put out in the world I hope to represent and show value in self respect, growth mindset, and healthy lifestyle and awareness of relationships people have with one another. I would love to create a space or community that allows for growth, self respect and collaboration.

Q Out of all your slashies, which one do you wish you could do more often?

I would love to focus more on workshops and collaborations in the creative arts world and youth education.

Q What is frustrating you right now?

I think while this is a temporary frustration it is still a valid frustration, but while in grad school a lot of time and energy is solely on grad school which doesn't allow much room for making money or working on separate projects outside of my studies!

Q If you could hire someone for $20/hour, what would you have them do to make your day easier?

I would probably have them manage my social media because I am someone who doesn't like to be attached to my phone.

Q What do you wish you could have told yourself, when, and why?

When I was in undergrad I would have told myself to experiment more, take more risks and challenge myself more instead of staying in a safe zone of what I know I am good at. I think there have been many times back then when I could have taken a few steps more to challenge myself but have always gotten to a certain point almost thinking that it was good enough, which is the wrong mentality and something that I have definitely gone away from the older I have gotten.

Q If you could talk to an expert to gain more insight on something, what would it be about?

I would talk to someone who has had experience in creating a community, inspiring people and building a space for collaboration.

Q What kind of opportunities/projects are you looking for?

I am looking for collaboration and also projects that are interactive for outside people looking in on them and that can show a bigger message and or data.

Q Describe your ideal job/client/collaboration.

One of my favorite collaborations I have been in was a video project where my partner and I worked together to create a promo video and recap video of a music festival. Creating the shot list, making sure we cover every part and splitting up the work, gathering all the media and creating the storyboard and editing the video.

Q How should someone approach you about working together?

I love when people just first off express that they want to work with me, after that I definitely think cover some crucial parts of working with someone or a team is to talk about expectation of what we may want to create together (or what they want me to create for them) and budget of what is realistic and not.

Q Who is a creative you admire?

A creative that has helped me a lot elevate my work is actually all my classmates in grad school because of the differences in all our work and the critiques and help and support that we have all shown currently/throughout our time in grad school.

Q Oh! and… how do you stay creative?

I stay creative by always asking questions and talking to people about their experience and talking about my vision and goals and where I want to go and create. I am a mixture of bouncing ideas off of different minds and different perspectives.
