Q What do you do?

I am a data-oriented designer who believes that creativity thrives under process and clear communication. No matter what brand or industry I am working with, my aim is to reach, through my work, an undeniable truth, creating recognition and surprise.

I believe the most precious gift a designer can give a client is the gift of someone else’s time and the best way to win that time is enticing the user to participate in constructive collaboration, forming a bond and detonating a shared understanding.

I have worked directly with clients, agencies and other creative professionals to create innovative, user-friendly and strongly branded experiences on various platforms. What I am most passionate about is coming up with solutions that create connections through a common experience and a wink.

Q What steps did you take to get to where you are now?

Work as hard as I can, be flexible, take new challenges even if they seem beyond my skill set, I have proven time and time again I can learn anything I set my mind on.

Q How do you stand out in your field?

My experience as well as my unique world view and approach, I am very process oriented and prioritize client goals always with the intention to create connections with an element of humor

Q What are you working on right now?

Personal art projects — www.torreja.nyc

Q What’s your style?

All of my projects represent me. I believe in the importance of content as much as the white space around it. Usability and user connection first.

Q Out of all your slashies, which one do you wish you could do more often?

I love using my illustration skills whenever I can, creating iconography or info graphics when appropriate

Q What is frustrating you right now?

My frustration at the moment is finding the right fit

Q If you could hire someone for $20/hour, what would you have them do to make your day easier?

Manage my social media

Q What do you wish you could have told yourself, when, and why?

I would have told myself that I am not an impostor because at times I have doubted myself when I started out specially.

Q If you could talk to an expert to gain more insight on something, what would it be about?

Impostor syndrome

Q What kind of opportunities/projects are you looking for?

I thrive in variety and believe in my process and its effectiveness regardless of the type of project I am working on. Only because they’re personal interests of mine I would love to work on sneaker brands, or anything fashion or beauty related. I am also looking for an opportunity where I will have room to learn and grow.

Q Describe your ideal job/client/collaboration.

AT&T, I was trusted to turn user research into an effective and user friendly new experience for several sections of the site where user drops were a problem. I successfully built these pages, from creating user flows, wireframes, prototypes and final art direction. This was done for AT&T, DirecTV and Uverse.

Q What is your rate?

On an hourly basis (100-200/hr) On a day rate (800-1500k) On a project basis depending on project scope On a yearly basis (150-190k)

Q How should someone approach you about working together?

Email, I like to have everything in written form always. Include as much as possible about the project scope and all necessary materials needed for reference as well as necessary assets.
