Q What do you do?

I put your thoughts into words

I’m a social media copywriter that specializes in short form copy i.e. Instagram captions, email marketing, website copy and blog posts for gen z brands, beauty and fashion brands.

Q What steps did you take to get to where you are now?

Right before I graduated with my degree in Photography, I had to take a mandatory marketing class. We learned outdated marketing strategies that don’t hold much weight in today’s world, when was the last time you used a calling card? And I started to realize first, how much I actually enjoy learning about marketing and second how I can help brands use social media to successfully market their products. I began taking marketing crash courses, building my portfolio and I landed an entry level social media marketing job. Only a few months in, I decided to apply for an internship to indulge my passion for floral design. I got the internship and on my first day, all I did was talk about marketing strategies, building a brand and creating a successful social media presence. I'm not even sure I picked up a single flower. Lucky for me, it wasn’t long after that, there was an opening within the company and they offered me an in-house marketing job. I was thrilled.

Now, over three years later, I’ve worked with beauty, fashion, skincare and floral design brands to create tailored marketing strategies through content creation, copywriting and building an engaged, trusting audience. Only recently have I refined my services to copywriting so that I am able to niche down and offer a specialty copywriting service to cool/fun/passionate brands.

Q How do you stand out in your field?

A picture says a thousand words, I get it, but I’ve found that specifically on Instagram, captions are getting totally overlooked and worse the captions that people are sharing are what I call ‘fluff captions’ they don’t add anything! I focus on refining a brand's tone and voice to build trust and engagement with their audience. I want your ideal customers to read and think ‘wow! It’s like they are talking directly to ME’.

Q What are you working on right now?

Lately I’ve been working on continuing to stay educated and in the know. I don’t think I’ll ever stop attending workshops or online courses that expand my expertise :)

Q What’s your style?

Since 90% of my job is to deeply understand the brands that I write and create for, it can be hard to define MY style. What I do know is that my writing style is straight to the point and sometimes witty or quick while my visual style can easily be defined as Barbie X Parisian chic.

Q Out of all your slashies, which one do you wish you could do more often?

I love writing short form copy for Instagram but lately I’ve been excited about engaging an audience over email marketing. It allows for a more personal connection as well as longer form storytelling that sheds light on less talked about aspects of your brand.

Q What is frustrating you right now?

How quickly trends are moving! Your captions should not feel dated or out of style but it feels like staying up to date on Tiktok or even Instagram is a full time job. I’m working with all my clients to create a tone of voice, tailored to them that will outlast the eb and flow of the internet and connect with their audience beyond the fast moving trends.

Q If you could hire someone for $20/hour, what would you have them do to make your day easier?

A personal assistant to keep my personal life and work life going smoothly <3

Q What do you wish you could have told yourself, when, and why?

Saying no is cool! When I first started working for myself and reaching out to clients, I truly believed that I should just say ~ yes ~ no matter what was asked of me. It never got too far, it simply just caused me plenty of headaches and resulted in me doing things I wasn’t excited about. I just needed a little confidence boost to learn that when I say no to things/clients/projects that aren’t a good fit for me I can say yes to more things that are!

Q If you could talk to an expert to gain more insight on something, what would it be about?

Anything I’ve ever wanted to do or achieve I’ve figured out on my own. So far it’s worked out but I know I could save myself time and energy by working one on one with someone who has done it all before! I’d love to learn from a social media marketing mentor or copywriter on how they’ve scaled their business :)

Q What kind of opportunities/projects are you looking for?

Clients that understand the power of a scroll stopping caption. As your go-to copywriter, I can stay on retainer for ad-hoc work and fulfill monthly captions, announcements, newsletter copy and anything else. As a long term working relationship, I’ll get familiar with the ins and outs of your brand tone of voice to make sure you’re standing out across all platforms.

Q Describe your ideal job/client/collaboration.

My dream clients are beauty / wellness / gen z brands seeking social media copy that converts. I love working with female lead teams who are passionate and thoughtful about their brand, as your copywriter I’m here to translate your products, services and brand message into easy to consume copy across social platforms.

Q What is your rate?

Copywriting ~ $40/hr.

Q How should someone approach you about working together?

Email me!

Tell me all about your business and why you’re looking for a copywriter. Bonus points if you already have Copywriting Guidelines in place :)
