Q What do you do?

I’m is a design multi-hyphenate with a degree in computer science.

Based in New York, I creates digital experiences equal parts thoughtful and playful . My typical freelance menu includes 2-3D motion graphics, static graphic design and full website builds. Currently, I am designing a photo book with photographer Luke Piotrowski.

Q What steps did you take to get to where you are now?

The number and intention of the steps mean far more to me than "which" steps I took. I've worked to get where I am now. I am an entirely self-taught designer. From YouTube tutorials (thanks @intranetgirl) to design manuals and textbooks (Elements of Style and Interactions of Color are two of my favorites), I have forged a unique path from full-time engineer to full-time freelance designer.

Q How do you stand out in your field?

By blending technical expertise and thoughtful design. My background in computer science gives me a systems-based perspective that lends my creative expression depth and durability.

Q What are you working on right now?

A book of photography with New York Times-collaborating photographer, Luke Piotrowski.

Q What’s your style?

Our studio website is a great example of my current taste.

Q Out of all your slashies, which one do you wish you could do more often?

3D modeling & compositing

Q What is frustrating you right now?

Continuing to develop and skillshare in the 3D realm. I hope to move towards being an active contributor to the large & growing open-source Blender community

Q If you could hire someone for $20/hour, what would you have them do to make your day easier?

Bookeeping :/

Q What kind of opportunities/projects are you looking for?

3D animation & design. I would love to collaborate with more musicians & DJs on music videos, promotional assets, brand management & on-stage visuals.

Q Describe your ideal job/client/collaboration.

My ideal collaborative environment is embedded. I hope to join a small team or partner to create a multi-faceted design set or system. The growth and sustainability of my designs has become deeply important.

Q What is your rate?

My rates typically begin around $800 / day for 3D design and animation.

Q How should someone approach you about working together?

Via email! I begin all work with an initial Google Meet to discuss the terms of the project, pricing & expectations.

Q Who is a creative you admire?

Lee Pozin! Also a Brooklyn-based self-taught designer, Lee is a constructive & deep thinker with agency experience
