Q What do you do?
I'm a fun-loving brand designer, creative and visual storyteller dedicated to creating joyful experiences; crafting thoughtful concepts driven by strategic insights and telling stories with visually appealing design. I specialize in digital design and branding but have a great enthusiasm for everything from animated illustration to art direction.
I strive to create visual stories that delight, inspire, and inform people, stories that spark imagination and curiosity!
Q What steps did you take to get to where you are now?
I started as a graphic and industrial designer in Bangkok, Thailand. After graduating with a Bachelor of Industrial Design in 2018, I started an online D2C shoe brand with the mission to give women the freedom to glow without sacrificing comfort and simplicity. I built the brand by utilizing my skills to think both two and three-dimensionally and harnessing my creativity and business acumen to bring it to life. This experience has taught me to conceive and solve challenges holistically, taking every aspect into consideration.
My passion for branding and desire to grow has brought me to New York City, where I am a 2020 graduate of the SVA Masters in Branding program. I threw myself into a new world, traveling across the globe and challenging my creativity with strategic and critical thinking. This was where I gained a lot of practical experience in developing brand strategies, stories and identities.
From there, I started freelancing and worked on several branding and illustration projects before joining Omsom, a loud and proud Asian food brand whose mission is to reclaim and celebrate the multitudes within Asian flavors + stories. At Omsom, I worked as the sole designer, designing a variety of physical and digital branded materials, as well as rowdy social media!
Q How do you stand out in your field?
My background spans branding, e-commerce, industrial, graphic, and fashion design. Having experience in both design and strategy, I bring both imaginative and strategic approaches, including different cultural perspectives, fueled by my interest in human behavior and my enthusiasm to embrace unfamiliar circumstances.
Also, I love hacking into simplicity and continuously exploring new ideas! I'm fascinated by technology and love to use it to communicate elegantly and effectively across every channel I touch!
Q What are you working on right now?
Most of my time is spent creating fun things at SpecialGuest and working on several exciting branding and illustration projects, including crafting for my children's book, The Silly Simba Adventures! Besides that, I'm busy discovering answers to my musings I felt nervous to ask and turning them into illustrations I love!
Q What’s your style?
Delightful! I love creating works with the idea that they will bring joy to the people who see them. My inspiration comes from everyday details, even small ones like clothing tags and tickets. They remind me that beauty can be found in the simple things and can dress up anything! Oh and vibrant colors and playful illustrations are my love language!
Q Out of all your slashies, which one do you wish you could do more often?
I'd love to focus on expanding my current skill sets in design as well as upgrading my animation and video editing skills!
Q What is frustrating you right now?
Making time to promote myself and building an online presence! I find it hard to do and tend to avoid it.
Q If you could hire someone for $20/hour, what would you have them do to make your day easier?
My own trend reporter! I want someone to send me a daily recap of trends in each category, what is going on and what is relevant at the moment. There's so much going on, and with a little free time, it would be great to have another pair of eyes to help me keep up with the latest and greatest!
Q What do you wish you could have told yourself, when, and why?
I would tell myself to be more eager, to go out there, and make a name for myself. Normally, I don't enjoy being the center of attention, but you never know when it will come in handy one day!
Q If you could talk to an expert to gain more insight on something, what would it be about?
Self-promotion! I find it extremely uncomfortable and always avoid it. But it's time for me to stop worrying and get my name out there!
Q What kind of opportunities/projects are you looking for?
Album/song cover art and wine labels! Both are always on my list! I'm also interested in working on branding projects with startups that are disruptive and striving to be more sustainable and inclusive.
Q Describe your ideal job/client/collaboration.
I prefer jobs that provide me with a clear objective to work towards while also allowing me flexibility to experiment. It's a joy for me to work with clients who are passionate about their brand and truly embrace their mission. Their passionate energy always inspires and energizes me!
Q: What is your rate?
In freelance work, my typical rate is $65 an hour. That said, my rate may vary depending on the scope of the project and the client.
Q How should someone approach you about working together?
You can email me. Please tell me who you are, what you are looking for, the scope of your project and your goals. Getting to know brands is always an exciting experience for me! :-)
Q Who is a creative you admire?
@kristinamicotti, @sebacuri, @clotilde.puy, @mud.witch as well as @nkwww, an amazing influencer and talented creator from Thailand!
Q Oh! and… how do you stay creative?
Look around, learn something new each day, and experiment, even if it’s silly!
