Q What do you do?
“I’m a creative director, art director, & designer with a love of photography and building branded digital experiences.”
I've worked in a variety of industries. Skilled in creative direction, concepting, visual/web design, branding, and motion graphics.
Q What steps did you take to get to where you are now?
A lot of long nights of nerding out to get ahead.
Q How do you stand out in your field?
I have a unique point of view that's playful, edgy and not too serious. We need more upscale casual in our lives, amirite?
Q What are you working on right now?
Working on building a new site experience and brand book for a beauty startup.
Q What’s your style?
My style is irreverence all the way. Life is full of realness and monotony, that I think we need more playfulness and unique perspectives to get us through the day. This is one project that's being built out in my book that can give you a sense of that.
Q Out of all your slashies, which one do you wish you could do more often?
Branding
Q What is frustrating you right now?
Getting people to think outside the box.
Q If you could hire someone for $20/hour, what would you have them do to make your day easier?
Laundry!
Q What do you wish you could have told yourself, when, and why?
I would've told myself that there will be a lot of people who don't believe in you but you'll prove them wrong. You'll map out your goals and get there way faster than you imagined. Prepare for what you do when you get there and always prioritize yourself and your mental health outside of the work. Why this is important is because when you do that, you make sure you have something left for yourself at the end of the day. No job is worth preventing yourself from being a human.
Q If you could talk to an expert to gain more insight on something, what would it be about?
Design Studio Founders. I'd like to gain more insight on steps to build growth for our small biz. I'd also like to connect with small type foundries or type designers.
This is something we'd like to dip our toes into and the more insight the better!
Q What kind of opportunities/projects are you looking for?
Branding projects, campaign direction, website style guides, website design.
Q Describe your ideal job/client/collaboration.
The ideal client would be someone who is on the same page with the point of view I bring. There's trust in me and they have the ability to be candid in a respectful way. Ideally they're open to me being a strategic partner; not someone who just "does" the work they want.
