Q What do you do?

I marry the digital and media arts with the art of living to create brands you can feel from beyond the screen.

This is the more poetic version of my services but essentially, I am a Creative Director, Editorial Director and Brand Consultant passionate about creating brands that have their own unique snowflake personality.

Q What steps did you take to get to where you are now?

My career began in creative advertising, starting with a degree in creative copywriting. After 10 years working in some pretty prestigious and very fun agencies in Sydney and Los Angeles, I moved brand and client side working directly with startups, solopreneurs, and small businesses.

Q How do you stand out in your field?

Personally, I love to marry a tactile aesthetic with sexy analytics and an authentic voice. Although we must market digitally, it’s my passion to make websites and channels feel like physical places. I’m always asking what’s on high rotation on this brand’s playlist, do they prefer appetizers or dessert, where did they last vacay? The more essence and personality that can be pulled into the marketing, the better – in my humble opinion.

Q What are you working on right now?

Many things but I’ve JUST launched Realm of Experience – an online holistic directory. It’s a little side project that lets me indulge my woo woo side and support those in the healing arts profession.

Q What’s your style?

My perspective is always to imbue projects with as much pleasure, personality, and passion as possible. Honestly, my aforementioned Realm of Experience is one that is close to my heart. Some other brands I admire for similar reasons are Flamingo Estate, Moon Juice, and Kelly Wearstler.

Q Out of all your slashies, which one do you wish you could do more often?

I love the inception stage of a brand and wish I could do more consulting. In a dream world, I’d be a brand doula advising and preparing startups or small businesses on birthing their brand from tone of voice to go-to market strategies.

Q What is frustrating you right now?

Self promotion and sourcing new clients. Although I've got a solid roster I’d love to attract some new and smaller businesses looking to launch their brand but finding it difficult to carve out the time. It’s much easier to be the hype woman and accountability partner for my clients and then for myself.

Q If you could hire someone for $20/hour, what would you have them do to make your day easier?

Flodesk integrations, project management and backend digital admin. My brain heavily leans right and I gratefully appreciate process driven people.

Q What do you wish you could have told yourself, when, and why?

You don’t need a college degree to be a great creative — and move at the pace of love. My 20 something self definitely burned too much midnight oil.

Q If you could talk to an expert to gain more insight on something, what would it be about?

Setting up supportive business and financial structures. I’ve definitely come round to the value of systems planning. More ease equals more creativity, more time, and more money for everyone.

Q What kind of opportunities/projects are you looking for?

Consulting and helping small business, start ups or solopreneurs in health, wellness, beauty, fashion and design, food create or rebrand their business from website build to brand voice and identity and channel planning.

Q Describe your ideal job/client/collaboration.

Anyone that has love and passion for their business and equally prides themselves on being a nice human.

Q What is your rate?

My approximate hourly rate is $100 USD or $500 USD a day but that can also shift depending on size and scale of project. Best to shoot me an email for an exact quote : )

Q How should someone approach you about working together?

Drop me an email with a couple of sentences about your project or question – and I’ll most definitely get back to you within 48 hours.

Q Who is a creative you admire?

Katie of Pearler Work is amazing. Incredible Squarespace developer, has exceptions templates, and just an all around lovely human that provides excellent service. She truly is the conduit to your wildest website dreams. If you are looking to amp up your digital – Check her at pearler.work

Q Oh! and… how do you stay creative?

Be like Dolores Abernathy and “choose to see the beauty”.
